engine components?

im starting to put together a list of components i'll need to have a nice forged motor built this summer/fall.

I wanting this to be a 4.6 4V-DOHC motor. Not interested in staying w/ the 2 Valve, and not interested in going with a 5.4.

Also can i use the block out of my 02 GT and turn it into a DOHC motor, or do i need to get a 4.6 DOHC block out of another car?

wanting to know what combo's would make the best hp, with a decent idle but nothing rough. this will be for a 550-600 hp street/dailly driver application, retaining full driveability, use of accessories (a/c, headlights, stereo, etc.) the first goal is to get as much N/A HP out of it as possible, then add a supercharger or turbo (not sure which yet).

forged pistons, intake manifold, connecting rods, main bearings, cams, heads, forged stroker crank, headers, tb plenum, injectors, maf, anything else im missing.

(which pistons will work for which stoker, do i have to have the block bored out, etc, make a list brand name and part #'s if you dont mind, so i will know exactly what to get).

money is not an issue. to transfer that power to the ground, i'm gonna go with an RPM Transmission T-56 Cobra Transmission. (3.73's along with having the rearend rebuilt, will be done after Christmas).

what you win the lottery, or get a big ins. claim from your accident!

Why not just implant a 03/04 Cobra Motor

Here's the cobra engine from FRPP, $6,700, plan on a couple of grand for the install, unless you do the swap yourself. It'll be alot easier than tracking down all the parts you need for a 2v to 4v conversion.

If money is no object, this would be the way to go. Alot less tweaking would be required to make sure the engine is running properly before you put any kind of F/I.

not interested in anything Ford Racing, or Ford makes for that matter. I don't trust what they build. On top of that, their hp #'s are way too low for prices like that.

reason I asked for components, was I want the best components for this engine, and Ford doesn't have the best components IMO.

it will be pretty big (they just found out there is still a fracture (after 12 weeks, and i may have torn ligs/tendons.)

cause they don't make them anymore and i dont want a used one.

now can someone please answer my original post? i didnt ask for the best crate engine, i asked for the best individual parts.

wiseco or diamond/CP or scat pistons
scat, eagle, manley, carillo rods
scat, eagle, kellog crank
ARP fasteners
Speed Pro and Federal Mogul H-series bearings
teksid aluminum block (a real teksid, not just aluminum)
Steen, TEA or Fox Lake ported 4v heads
custom grind cams (SHM makes good 4v cams)
01 cobra intake

those are the best. If you want to use your existing block you can no problem. I'd pick up an aluminum Teksid block to drop some weight.

the best parts will be what he mentioned above... the only thing i would say to get that may be better for you would be the FR500 intake. you should know that these MOD motors wont make huge numbers N/A. 400 or less
also...
MMR oil pump with cryo gears <---engine wise

FUEL SYSTEM will be a must for that kind of horsepower. 600+
03-04 cobra tank
Ford GT (supercar) pumps
Dual FPDMS
FORE fuel hat <---very expensive
upgraded wiring from battery to fuel pumps
dual fuel lines one for each rail
60# or higher injectors

i get more joy out of making my car to be what i want it to be, and customizing it.

besides when i bought the car, i didnt have the money to buy a cobra, and I didnt want the IRS suspension, nor did I want the Eaton S/C, and i didn't want to wait till i had the money to buy a cobra.

The GT suits my purposes. and it will be more rewarding to see my project come to life.
