intake Q's?/

found out my manifold got messed up when the motor blew, and have to replace it. now i was told that it could be fixed but as i looked at it, itlooked very restrictive and was thinking about changing the setup and also if i was thinking on adding more boost later on, i should upgrade the manifold?soo what intake setup should i go with? the bullitt setup i saw was priced at over a grand and saw the trick-flow setup for about the same price due to the need of changing the throttle body into a dual-setup! which one is best to go with?and is there other setups i can go with? thanks!!

ahem... HPS Hardball'r. I have one on top of my 5.5L. It seems to flow pretty well there. www.hiperformancesolutions.com. It's inexpensive and a snap to install. Really, they're super easy to do... all the things hook up just like stock. Responds really well to boost.

fwiw, the Trick Flow intake really looks promising from the pics I've seen so far.

yea, i was checking the trick-flow also on summit. im guessing it would be the same price as the bullit setup. also i called ford, the bullitt setup was @ $1200.the hps was priced at about 750,if i remembered correctly:confused:,ebay usually has the bullitt intake for around 600,wondering if i should jump on that?

if you get a real bullit intake you need all the hardware kit to install it which is another several hundred dollars. Trick flow made theirs to look and act like the bullit without the need of an install kit. And you dont need a twin TB, they have two versions, single TB and dual TB.

find an HPS or a used bullit w/ install kit or a used trick flow. If you get a HPS I might could do a quick port job on it for you (nothing near as much as on mine) for your blower application or bob can have it ported for you. Call up HPS and talk to Bob. If they're still selling them direct it'd probably be cheaper than through THR at full retail.

Is that what Trick Flow told you?

the trick flow and bullit intakes have a similar upper plenum. so with look being somewhat similar, they should act similar. That does not mean they perform the exactly the same, but similar. of course their are differences, trick flow can't put out an intake that an exact copy without patent infringement. But the basic flow principle is the same, longer plenum running into the back of the intake and its an all metal design. Plus its a direct bolt on, no install kit required as with a true bullit intake.

Do it

that's not a good idea. That is a crappy crappy manifold. It's more likely to cost you power, it did for the tests me and a former member did.
