How hard it to.......

Install BBK shorty headers?

Easier that longtubes.

Here it is on a '95. I imagine it is very similar.

Go for the Long tubes. Harder to install but at least you'll see a worthwhile increase in power.
In my opinion is Long Tubes or stock.

its almost as much of a pain as it is to do long tubes, yet you dont get as much power.

bassman97 11-15-2007 06:52 AM

Set aside a lot of time for install and get some friends to help the install go quicker.

Im not a fan of long tubes, im gonna stick to the shortys..

Its a PITA... nowhere near as bad as LTs...

*edit - you may want to give yourself an entire day to do this and have a friend as well as a back up set of wheels. Just in case something breaks or strips and you have to run to NAPA for a new something. While you can get it done in as little as 40 minutes... It could end up taking an entire day or longer if you have luck like me... lol

A day? $hit, it took me a week to install my LT's by myself and even then, I wasn't finished. Granted I was an idiot thinking I can do it w/ the k-member on and didn't realize my friend who helped me didn't take the PITA bolt off the starter but still, a day? You are God.

I'm talking about shorties... lol...

If nothing goes wrong. I can change a motor in under 4 hours. But nothing ever goes smooth.

I can change a clutch in under 3 hours. However, last time it took me 3 days because shit broke and I had to special order stuff.

This is why you need to leave yourself some extra time. Even for stupid jobs like headers. If you are like me something will go wrong...

world class mother fugger... it's hard, it's a PITA. It's 8 bloody and sore fingers and the job not even half way done yet. Longtubes or don't bother if you can help it.

bassman97 11-15-2007 03:25 PM

That's my luck too. Every time I do anything on the car, something goes wrong. For the headers, it was my stupidy and the starter. For my control arms, it was putting the brake cable back on. For my shifter, it was the stick refusing to stay put.

Don't bother with shorties...just saying..

r3dn3ck 11-17-2007 07:41 AM

shorties are best left for cars with blowers or a turbo. Longtubes for NA.
