Which cams?
I was pretty much set on VT stage II N/A cams...but i see that they are coming out with stage III cams soon. Should i wait to see what the specs of those cams are?
or should i start looking at other cams? my Mustang is just a weekend warrior now, and i am going to keep it N/A, but just want to make sure that when i replace my cams this winter, that i will be getting the most "bang for my buck" that i can, and don't want to have regrets. so....i donno how expirenced some of you are with cams, but maybe help me out with some research, or let me know of any information you know on N/A cams. i am looking at crower stage III N/A cams now, they seem to not have as much lift as the VT stage II's but have more lope to them. Crower says the stage III's are good up to 6,750 rpm and more and starting at 2,000rpm, as the VT stage II power range is 3000rpm-6,500rpm :dunno: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQK475c9YQg |
stage 3 cams are a bit much for a car seeing any kind of street usage. If you don't have longtubes and a built bottom end and aftermarket intake then don't bother with stage 3. Comp xe270ah-13 or VT stage II are more than sufficient for street/strip cars.

a stage 2 cam will be plenty for your mods.

yeah, thats what i was thinking....plus more mid range power for the street.....high end power is more drag strip....and i don't flow well enough with the stock heads and manifolds to gain all the power i want outta a stage III cam.
stage II VT's are going to be perfect im thinking |
from what i hear you won't gain much hp out of any cam unless you do some head work, just my 2 cents
