"Coolant Mod"
can anyone explain the benefit or operation of "the coolant mod" for the 2V ??
Right rear cylinder doesnt have a coolant passage, thus reads higher temps. Benefit is cooling that cylinder, great for high HP power adder cars. Problems usually come from that area due to excessive heat.
but this mod is for only agresive use, i mean for more of 400HP ^.... ur more.. i dont think low with less of 350HP need that one.. I THINK...
it doesnt cost much to do though... installing it is a PITA. if you ever drop your tranny to do your clutch than that would be the best time to do this mod.
Does anyone have links to more info on this, tutorials, etc... I haven't done this mod yet. I think it would be a good thing to do at this point. Does it apply to certain year mustangs or ? More info please. Thanks.

any 2v will have this problem with the number 7 and 8 cylinders getting very hot due to recirculating hot coolant. This is why the first thing i did was add a cooler T-stat to help a little (Not much i know but it helps keep the temps down 10* on that cylinder using a friend laser heat gun). With that said there are two different ways to do it. You can tap into the back of the head for the water passage and then go right to the back of the intake manifolds coolant tube. This means drilling into the manifold and tapping it then using an expoy to add a barbed fitting so you can use a hose to connect the head to the manifold. Or use the crack pipe method which sends it back to the water pump i believe. There is alot of talk on modular depot on this i will find the link i read about it there and post them for others to look at.
