low rpm misfire
Are there any other idiots like myself who have taken there stang and washed the engine? I had terrible misfires afterwards and a low rpm misfire remains with a short stall when dumping the throttle. Any ideas about what in the f**K I have done?

I'm pretty sure there is another member on this site that washed his engine and messed it up....I think I know who it is, but I won't out him. Hopefully he will chime in

lol....
Ill call him out. WATERDR |
put in quad platinums they will cause the car to work in zero gravity
:topsecret: |
I tried degreasing my engine, and ****ed it up....car was running real rough, I figured it was just water that would work it self out. The car kept misfiring all over and was blinking my check engine light...I tried changing the plugs and it didn't help....Turns out one of my coils shorted. Replaced the faulty, along with my boots because they were looking rough, and all was better. Check for water down in the plug wells too.
Worst part of it all was my engine bay still looked like shit :D |

Thanx, I'll check the coil and plugs for water. I hope it is that simple.

I have done this a few times. Don't feel bad. I think we all have. Like they have said, blow everything out, dry the plugs off if needed (have had to do this) recheck everything and run the motor till warm for a little while. Solves the problem most of the time. Good luck!:postwhore:

Well, for anybody else out there like me, if you wash your engine and have bad misfires without computer codes or SES to show, change the plugs. I don't know why, but it fixed the problem.

ford f150
i did it with my truck but not the stang dude, what u thinkin

I just use that foaming crap from autozone, and yeah in the directions it says to cover the coil and any electrical connectors. i just put plastic wrap on top of them and when i wash it off with the hose i dont blast it, just shower it. Never had a problem

i had the same problem after washing under the hood. my advice would be to change the plugs, hell it doesn't hurt
