Will I have to buy my own tuner?

I am looking into getting a CAI for my 07' GT. I am looking at various ones, but I am probaly going with either a JLT, BBK or Steeda. The JLT REQUIRES a retune but the BBK doesn't. But I think I saw someone post something about Steeda not being any good. SO my real question is, do I need to buy a tuner? Or does my car dealership or an auto shop have a tuner and can they just do it? I don't want to damage my car if I put in the CAI and not tune it. If needed, I will buy a tuner. So will it hurt the car if I install the cai and then drive to a place? ALSO! what cai would people reccomend? the JLT says it may be between 28-30rwph with a 93 octane retune? so woudl that mean I'd have to start fueling with 93oct. gas?

btw: I am only 19 and own a brand new 07' GT. I bought it myself with no help. So don't think I am some spoiled little kid. I have a very good job that pays me quite well.

i've heard that on the new stangs you have to get a retune if you change the intake...so i would prob just go ahead and get a tuner...i would go with the new SCT livewire, its pretty bad

Yes, get a tuner....any intake that doesn't come with a tuner probably doesn't do crap for the car. JLT is probably the best intake in my opinion. Getting a tuner has way more advantages than just a tune for an intake. You can always get additional tunes when you add more mods, change your gear ratio, read codes and the list goes on. It's a great tool to have.

You probably could install your CAI and drive it somewhere, but dont go wide open throttle because your A/F ratio will probably be way off...that's why the tune is needed.

Yes, if you get a 93 octane tune you MUST run 93 octane. If you get a SCT tuner I think you can have up to 3 tunes stored in it. So you could have an 87 octane tune, 91 octane tune, and 93 octane tune.

thanks! when i buy my tuner will i need to have them include a CAI tune? Or is that part of the original tunes already comign with my SCT livewire? One more question to, If I switch to 93. oct. it won't damage my car will it? Cuz If i can get more power out of a 93. oct then I will def switch, but i won't have to do anthing if i wanna switch will I?

Hey JLT is a good choice but C&L had a package that has the intake with a tuner combo, and I have hear great things about it
