Beginer Mods????

I have recently purchased my first (road worthy..haha) Mustang. It is an '03 GT, that is fairly stock. Best I can tell it has a K&N style air filter and a Magna Flow cat back dual exhaust. So.....where to I go from here, best bang for the buck?

best bang for the buck would have to be gears...........

Shifter (if manual) and suspension (full length subframe connectors and rear lower control arms). Also, if manual, Aluminum clutch quadrant. Lastly, remove your intake silencer.

Where exactly is this Intake silencer?

On your air box, there's a rubber "snorkel" going into the fender well. That's your silencer. Simply take you air box out and the silencer can be pulled off.

I installed a K&N which doesn't go into the fender well anymore and i'm pretty sure theres no silencer am I correct?

gears, then start saving for a vortech s/c. Any other bolt on parts will hardly make any difference.

Did you install the K&N filter or the whole FIPK? The FIPK is its own thing but just installing the filter in the stock airbox is another. Th stock airbox has the silencer, no the cold air kit.

Any "simple" ideas

I appreciate all the comments, I know gears are potent....I put about 300-500 miles a week on this car, and I am too fond of the current gas milage too put more gear in it., I also wanted to start with some more basic stuff. I am considering a cool air intake or "ram air", and some underdrive pulleys. Maybe some subframe connectors and strut tower braces, maybe even a drop????? Also drooling over some big brakes. Any comments along these lines?

I say go with 4.10s. I barely noticed a change in mpg.But you will notice a good change in how the car accelerates.Yeah gears..
