everyone with cams

everyone who has cams plz post what cams you have (brand and specs), what you like/dislike about them, any problems you had, other mods, hp/tq, and idle/rev/drive by videos would be awsome

VT stage 2's, no complaints or problems. Vids on my site. Current power is 269rwhp 281rwtq. Other good choices are Comp 262AH or 270's. Youll need new springs with the stage 2's and 270's, and Id degree them too.

nonojoe66 02-13-2007 07:01 PM

yea im lookin at either the comp or vt probably if i do them, did you use your original timing gears?

nonojoe66 02-13-2007 07:04 PM

how did the car run not tuned? do u recomend not driving it till its on a dyno?

03gtmustang 02-13-2007 07:14 PM

I didnt degree my cams. Comp has a 5* advance in theirs, so if you have the money, then def degree them. Otherwise go with VT stage 2's and youll be fine. I dont know of any good aftermarket gears right now. Just use the stockers and grind the keyway.

Driving it untuned was a bitch. I had to make sure I kept the idle up or else it would stall. The worst part is when it stalls while you're tuning. You wont mess anything up by driving it untuned, just dont go WOT, and get the tune ASAP.

bassman97 02-13-2007 07:45 PM

Doesn't Comp Cams make an adjustable gear set now?

nonojoe66 02-13-2007 07:47 PM

what do you mean by grinding the keyway? ps. sorry, is that better?

B-rett 02-13-2007 08:29 PM

VT stage 2's umm havent realy driven it yet but it can idle pretty good until u rev it then u have 2 keep it running......... while its not tuned yet.....drove it up and down my street thats bout it no complaints

soundclip in link in sig

cool thanks for the warning, i was looking at either the patriots or comp cams valve springs, but i guess ill just go with the comp then

03gtmustang 02-13-2007 10:21 PM

Patriots parts suck, everyone in the world should know that by now, if not, then you havent done enough research. Comp springs are too much better then stock. You want Crower or Manley Nexteck springs.

Comp does have an adjustable gear, but its just like the shitty fidnanz (sp) ones.
