adaptive learning

Does the computer on the 2V's have an adaptive learning for spark? I ask b/c when I put a tune in for 93 octane the car pings under load (in overdrive and accelerating from 40 to 60) when the tune is first installed but seems to get better the longer I drive it. I know that when you install a tune it resets all the learning parameters which would explain why it pings for a while if it does have to learn not to ping. I ask b/c I know the 2V do not have a knock sensor but I have heard that they can learn 'not to ping' but without a knock sensor how would the computer do that. Or have I just heard a line of SH%$?

My car did the same thing when I added my sct xcal 2. You probably have a cotton filter in your car such as k&n, fram, or some sort of cold air intake, right? Chances are, oil and dirt are on your mass air flow sensor so youll have to take it off and clean it up. id also reclean and reoil your filter.
