Help with intake
Im new to the mustang world and dont really know much about it so. The shop of friends i use is called MSX (Modular speedwork) And i want a intake, My car is pretty much stock except for the exhaust, It came with flows, and flow tips and i added in the off road h pipe, now i wanted a intake to set it off. My friend said the fenderwell ones are better and some people say there the same and some say screw intakes, dont get it if u dont have to, right now i just have my air filter housing rigged to where it gets better flow but its still stock, it has a K and n my friend gave me, I was looking at this 1, my friend has it and he loves it, cuz when he shuts off his mustang he can hear it breathing still.
JLT Performance Cold Air Intake (96-04 Mustang GT) http://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-96-04-gt-cai.html now i was wondering what the big diff is? why spend that much on that when i can get this? Mustang GT Cold Air Intake Kit (96-04 GT) http://www.americanmuscle.com/mugtv8pocoai.html for less then 90$. Can anyone explain to me the big difference in these and if its worth it? Im not a street racer nor will i ever be, i dont go to the track, my car is purly a Automatuc Daily driver to cruise and show off in, I probly will take it to car shows for looks, other then that im not concerd with "speed" the jlt does give a better look over the other one that looks like a childs toy. but any help is appreicated, Im new to this and am trying to learn. |
Dont waste your money. they offer a couple horsepower improvement but its not worth the price tag. remove your air silencer and clean and re-oil your filter and you should be good to go.

ok thats what i have done, i just wanted to know from you guys first.
|
Get it for looks or if you have money to spend but just leave the KN.

i love my BBK cai, can hear it sucking in the air

dont buy a fenderwell style cai they are crap and meant for hondas. It looks way better when you have the filter in the engine bay anyways

for the love of gawd can we stop calling CAI's intakes. 1, they're not intakes. They're snorkels or inlet tubes. The "intake" term usually refers to the intake MANIFOLD and that sits on top of the engine.
sorry bout the rant but jeebus tiddy fuggin keyrhyst... asking for the right part is half of getting the right part. |
