hp guesstimate game
i have nowhere to get a dyno at, and want some people in the know about mustangs to give me a fair guesstimate on how much my car is putting out ( in horsepower, get your mind out of da gutter!)
2001 gt auto 1. K & N COLD AIR INTAKE 2. "3.90" motive performance gears 3. gt intake spacer 4. steeda cat back 5. accufab 70mm throttle body and plenum 6. diablosport tune here is my estimate: 279 going off the following: car is stock 260 hp from what i have read 1. 2hp 2. 0hp 3. 2hp 4. 6hp 5. 4hp 6. 5hp i am about right, or am i lowballing myself? |
i think everything is right minus the plenume dont people dyno 8hp or more with that thing? and tuner i would image is more like 10hp. but basicly flywheel its like 280-283 i guess?

I think your numbers that you added are a bit low. Those or closer to rwhp. I am with Dustin. You should probably be putting down around 280+ fwhp and around 250 to the ground.
One thing to consider, is that on a dyno the 3.90's are gonna cost you about 8 rwhp. That's right. You will actually loose hp. It is sort of a fluke on the dyno and is really not real hp loss. Except for perhaps 1 or 2 due to friction loss. Also, what wheels and tires do you have? They can affect dyno numbers too. |
280 is good.. i have fuzion zr1 tires, i think thats the name. mach 1 rims.
i was hoping ( but in reality it wouldnt happen) that the diablo tuner plus all these mods would be closer to 300. i heard really good things aboutthe diablo, and it brought the car to life. |
Every car reacts a bit differently. I know the SCT xcalibrator really woke my car up.
I'm hoping to be at 400 rwhp on a mustang dyno soon though :evil7: |
holy crap!! 400!!
hey where in iowa you at? |
