4.6L Rotating Assembly

Well I decided that this will be a more economical way of making power so which forged rotating asembly is the best for the 99-04 Gt's?

Thanks

are you looking at buying a full s/b

or are you trying to piece one together?

need more info... what are you expecting power wise from your combo and what kind of use is it subject to?

You can exceed 300rwhp with just a compression bump and cams, while a straight stock replacement (but forged) will yeild about exactly the power you have now.

My general rule of thumb is: bump it to 10:1 compression. You can still put a blower on later and run 6-8lbs of boost on pump gas and turn up the boost with race gas for track days. Nitrous loves compression so if that's your route then 10:1 would be nice. You can go to about 11.5:1 or so (stay under 12:1) if you want to live with nothing but the purest of 93 octane gas but a blower becomes unstreetable at that level, nitrous is still a great option.

If you want a dedicated blower motor, then you can drop the compression down to 8.5-9:1 and run gobs of boost and a whiff of nitrous.

The gist is, if you're a street driver looking for good street power but you don't want to go wild then you need to decide what your overall direction is.

I would just buy one of the affordable forged shortblocks from VT, DSS, MMR, etc... if you don't want to bother spec'ing out each and every component. Warning... you should know what you're looking at if you are going to spec the parts yourself and have the motor assembled from pieces. It's easy to blow money on parts that aren't right for your build if you haven't done the homework.
