warrenty issue suggestions

Hi, I have a 2003 mustang that is still under a 5 year warrenty and it is also certified. I want the performance but also still want my warrenty becuase i have to drive back and forth to college, any suggestions. Does anyone know if a chip would void the warrenty thanks

if something happens the dealer has to prove that the damage was a direct cause from the mod. with a chip if something happens to your engine they will blame it on the chip. so choose your mods wisely. i have a catted x, magnaflow cat back, diablo programer and never had any issues with warrenty work.

A chip will void the engine warranty,IF it's still there when the dealer gets the car.If you want to rely on the warranty then only install parts that can be removed before you take the car to the dealer.Programmer programs can be removed and reinstalled at will just by plugging in the programmer and reinstalling the stock tune. Some dealers are more likely than others to work with you however. As far as making them prove that the modification caused the harm, even if you win you still had to fight to get the repair and it may or may not be worth the aggravation. You might think about trying to cash in the remainder of your warranty and spend the money on something else.If a chip or tune is all you want, for now, then don't sweat it and go ahead, but remove it before going in for warranty work.

warranty issues

pretty much any modification can void your warranty or should i say make it hard to get repaired i personally dont know of anyones warranty VOIDED by a dealership or ford not saying they cant just dont know of an example. The most important thing to remember is that no dealership wants to warrenty a vehicle stock or modified that wasnt purchased from them the only reason they do warranty a vehicle is for customer loyalty for repeat sales because yes ford pays for the repair but its about half the labor that a walk in customer would pay off the street. Another important thing is to remember no one likes a smart--- so ask them to help you out not fix my car and now because all the modifications did is give them and out to not have to fool with repairing your car also always try to go back to the selling dealer you bought the car from they will be more likely to help you or overlook mods to have you come back and purchase another vehicle from them.
