underdrive pullies
hey guys i have a '02 gt anf planned on gettin some underdrive pullies shortly. whats that best kind to get and do i need to replace my belt when i get the new ones? thanks for the help
i have used steeda's twice now no problems and uses stock belt.
any non-piggy back style UD's will do the trick (i.e. steeda, motoblue, etc.)
Got Steeda on mine and never an issue.
I would say the same, steeda, i have friends that have them and they install easy too. though i have saleen on my saleen.
steeda... they're SFI certified and really quite nice, only UDP I'd use. Considering I HATE steeda as a company that's saying a lot for me to recommend them at all.
Get the steedas. I had mine installed a month ago and you could really feel the difference.

Yes I did. When i did my Accufab plenum w/70mm throttle body and JLT RAI I didn't feel a thing. There was a little better throttle response, but as for pulling any harder I could not tell. I didn't believe in pulleys either until my friend told me that when he put his Saleen pulleys on he felt a difference. So I decided to get my Steedas. I had a shop install them, and the first time I punched it getting onto the highway, the car pulled alot stronger from 3,000 rpms. It actually put me in my seat. Something that it never did before. I was so excited! On my way home everyone was doing like 75-80 on the highway, and I just flew past them doing 100mph.

i ran steeda also, no issues.
I have steeda U/D Pullies on my car and I felt a noticeable difference. Just remember to put the RTV silicon on the keyway slot.

Do you have any "heavy duty" stereo equipment?
Cheers Cooper |
nope no stereo...yet lol. will the pullies really make that big a difference on my charging system?
Depends on what you are running. 300-500 watt amp etc. you should be fine, after that you may want a cap.
Cheers Cooper |
hey did ur tb and plenum make a good gain on power? how much did they add?
Couldn't tell you, added the control arms, lakewood's, long tubes and a rebuilt tranny the same time as the throttle body etc. sorry
I'd rather do things in big groups as opposed to one at a time. Cooper |
