Questions for BLUE02GT

I was wondering what kind of 1/8 of mile times your car runs and u also said
you have a 3500 pi converter due you have the part # of the converter by
any chance. Also could you list your other mods to your car I have an 00 gt
i was wanting to modify but i dont want a power adder just want to keep
everything simple as possible and still be fun to drive. I have a mid 8s on
dots and low 8s on slicks stock suspension car and it is progressed to the
point its not much fun anymore. THANKS ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Ive got a PI 3500 stall multi disk also, dont know the part #, but you can get it from www.converter.com

1/4 ET: 12.894 1/8 ET: 8.283 60': 1.789
1/4 Trap: 107.000 1/8 Trap: 84.200

Those are my best numbers in each category.
I guess I should really list my mods in my signature.

here they are in no particular order.: 3,500 stall speed PI convertor, PA Racing street/strip valve body/ B & M tranny cooler/FRP 4.30 gears/Steeda double adjustable uppper control arms/Steeda lower control arms/Maximum motorsports full length weld in frame connectors/C & L TruFlow inlet pipe with K & N drop in filter/C & L plenum/Accufab 75 mm throttle body/SCT tune/Jet hot coated long tube headers/Hooker o/r X pipe/Steeda catback/Tokico adjustable drag struts/Steeda undrive pulleys/Nitto 275/15/50 Drag radials on 15"x8.5" Weld Draglites.

I just added the headers a week ago and the car is not real happy right now. I am getting a dyno tune next weekend and hopefully that will help things out. I also have a set of slicks and a set of skinnies that I have yet to run on so I hope to improve on those numbers in the near future weather permitting.

another question for blue02gt

what brand longtube did you purchase to use with the 4R70W and how did they fit

Blue02GT 04-10-2005 01:59 PM

Jet hot , they were a pain to install and the drivers side hits the floor pan so it's a little noisy some times. Have not figured out what I'm going to do the fix that problem yet. The good thing is you don't have to remove them to drop the tranny so you can put them on and do a converter later and not remove the headers. Hookers are supposed to be good also. My car needs a tune badly so I have no new best but with the slicks, skinnies, headers and a new tune it should run at least 12.7's in good air.

PistolWhip 04-11-2005 01:23 AM

Dean why don't you just bang a nice little dent in the floor pan around the header where it hits. Should do the trick if it's bothering you. I know I had to do that for my tranny because the solid trans mount changed the angle a little. I just took a ball pene hammer and gave it a few well placed wacks. Good to go now and you'd never know from the inside.

Mac and SLP will also fit with an automatic. The mac set you have to at least loosen the passenger side to take the trans out, not sure about the SLP ones. I put my mac LT's in with the motor and trans in the car, by dropping the K-member, and lowering the motor on a jack stand about 4 inches. bolted the headers up, lifted the motor, and reinstalled the k-member. All in my driveway, by myself (had my dad help hold the k-member up when I was bolting that back on though). Cant wait to have to drop the trans in a few weeks to add my new converter :BangHead: but at least I'll be changing the k-member at the same time :blob6:

That's what I was planning on doing. I'm good with a hammer just not a wrench.

Macs LT's here, install was pretty easy and straight forward, a lot better then Deans haha. Hell If anyone needs a set installed, or other work for that matter, Id be willing to do it for a small fee. Ive done 4 already and Im doing another one this weekend.

not lately though huh?

Sleeper Stang96 04-11-2005 01:05 PM

I am too lazy to work on my car especially because it seems to hate me, thats the reason it hasnt moved since september! I just did a suspension set-up in a friends car, and gauges in another, and some engine work on a kids car that was putting spray on. oh, and as much as I hate to admit it, I have put more neon lights/stereos onto rice mobiles than I care to remeber!!

It is my dual purpose vehicle, daily driver and race car.
The faster they get the worse they are to ride in.

dom 04-13-2005 08:23 AM

i use a multidisk 2800 stall PI converter and i have bbk long tubes with my 4r70w. had to cut off driver side collector, make a bend piece, and reweld. yet i have never driven my car since installing 90% of the parts on it now. just getting done.

How is it on the street with that high stall converter? I'd like to put one in my car but I'm a bit worried about driveability and mileage after I do it. My Stang is daily driven, about 500 miles a week.

It drives great. The torque converter and 4.30's took almost a second off my e.t. The converter will drop a couple of mpg in city driving but has no effect on highway mileage since it locks.
