Which are better: Saleen or Steeda, or are they the same? There is a guy selling used Saleen pullies with 8,000mi on them for $180 shipped, but I can also get new Steeda pullies for $180. What should I do? Is it worth it or should I save my money?

I would agree, if you are planning a supercharger, EVER, save the money. However, if you KNOW you are going to stay N/A, I guess if you want them. I dont know what Saleens are like, but Id get Steeda's over anything else.

If you get a blower then youll have to put the stock pulleys on anyways. I wouldnt get them either way. You can get a nice set of adjustable uca's or gears for that much.

Ive heard of water pumps and/or alternators failing prematurly because of pullies. With Saleen, you are paying for the name so id rather buy new steedas than used saleens.

get the steeda's used from someone else for alot less.

There is a guy in my area who has brand new Steedas. I could probably get them for $120. Should I do it? I don't really want to spend the money if I don't gain anything from them. Also, if i have a problem installing them, i'm gonna have to pay $150 to have them installed.

Your looking in the wrong place, i see used saleen pulleys on ebay barely used maybe sell for 80 bucks or less. Steeda's are good but i like my Saleen ones but....they are all the same, different color and different name on them, that's about it. i've had them for years and my water pump or Alt never failed. you usually see the gain from the mid to top end about 8hp to the wheels at the dyno graphs i've seen. same for Torque.
But if your getting a supercharger down the road, no point in getting them, unless you get them used and cheap, then you can resale them or something
And your paying for the name on any products.

I'll probably go ahead and get them! I won't be seeing a supercharger for atleast 3 years, if ever on this motor.

Also you can install it yourself, just get a puller for the dampner, the water pump is 4 bolts, i think it's a 10mm socket, then use a breaker bar for the alt pulley nut, leave the belt on, if you can't break it loose, take it somewhere that has a pnumatic gun and tap it off.

I agree totally - I won't be seeing an Supercharger for a while. The gains were minimal but they were there. All these little things add up you know! :)

You can go with the big gains first ie. Gears, cams, etc.. but that usually costs a lot of $$$. I personally don't have that much patience....

I noticed an increase in Smoothness in downshifting, quicker RPM jumps, and a good amount no the top end. I say it was worth it.

Oh yeah! They were definitely worth it! I've had the steedas on the car for about two weeks now and they are great. Right away I felt that the car pulled alot harder.

get the steeda pullies. Then you'll have some assurance that the parts are going to give the same service life a new part would because they are new. The used saleen pullies are WAY over priced and they're used... I'd skip used pullies. They make me very nervous. Seen too many that were showing cracking in the rubber core. noh bwaynoh
