question on SLP X-pipe cats/pipes

im prob gona get the SLP catted X pipe. i wana kno exactly how easy it is to switch in and out the cats with race pipes so that i know if i should buy them or not. lift required?

Lunati 07-29-2006 09:46 AM

its very easy to switch them out. it just takes a few minutes to do. if u dont have a lift dont worry jacks would do just fine.

if i go over any speed bump they scrape...i have to go really slow...ive scraped just once when driving on a street w/ 3 people in the car..

here is a pic...i have to do something about how low it hangs...cause i plan on droppin it close to 2 inches....so that would leave me w/ ~1.5 inches between the ground and heatshield

i cannot get outta my driveway w/o scraping the concrete gutter...unless i back out/go really slow

hey lunati...how much clearance does ur cat's have...and is ur car lowered?

dookie2365 07-29-2006 10:44 AM

damn wtf theres always a problme now i duno waht to do cause im gona do sport springs too

PureStang 07-29-2006 11:21 AM

well..i know there is a way to get them higher..i just dont know how..cause if uve seen 40thblckgt..his car is slammed..and he is running the full slp exhaust (LT's, mid and catback)

hey i have the slp catted x and the steeda sport springs and only on monstorous speed bumps and curbs will it scrap... you can positions them up further towards the floor boards so that they don't scrap i have more then 3 inches of clearance between cat and the ground... i highly recommend the slp x i love it its not raspy at all and just sounds bad ass...

rut-roh, I was gonna go with the SLP x pipe with cats too and I'm doing my H&R's next week hopefully, hmm houston we need a write-up on this....

How to run an SLP x pipe with cats and be low!

Badfish 07-30-2006 07:10 PM

my x-pipe and mufflers scrape on everything. i have a catless x too. it doesnt harm it except scratch it a lil, i took it off and scraping as much as i do (pretty much everyday for over a year) has not harmed or ruined the integrity of either my x-pipe or mufflers. at all. scraping is part of having a lowered car, it doesnt hurt your car (especially since SLP is full SS)

Ive scrapped mine a couple times. They hang pretty low.

my dad and I tried to put on the racepipes, the cats were so stuffed into the x and the header that it wouldent come out even with a hammer. I was really dissapointed but its just not worth all the hassel to take them in and out everytime the car gets inspected
