Throttle Body question

im sure this gets old and asked about every other day but i already bought an Accufab T/B,Plenum combo..and the T/B is 75mm...my question is will it help in performance or hurt it?...ohh and thats not the only mod i bought, i also bought some FRPP 4.10 gears,Predator Tuner,MAC Straight Shot CAI(so it can look purdy under my hood, lol!) all going in hopefully in the next week, im not planning on adding nitrous and/or S/C or Turbo...so even with those mods is a 75mm T/B too much for my car...(01 GT automatic)...thanks in advance for all replies...

I use a 75mm TB and I got some power out of it. but I had the car dyno tuned as well.

You will be fine with the 75mm.Alot of people go that route.

According to some tests done by some guys on MD, the best gains were with an Accufab 70mm t/b and Accufab plenum.

so i guess i would be okay...not unless someone wants to trade a 70mm for a 75mm T/B,Accufab of coarse,hehe...thanks for the replys

you will be fine with the 75mm. you might only loose 1-2 hp at peak with the 75 vs. 70

spike_africa 07-29-2006 06:42 AM

How would one loose Hp with a larger opening?

Saleen S330 07-29-2006 11:47 AM

If anything you might be leaning out a little on the top end, other than that it's fine.

If you have the tuner, you can add fuel if you want, but how much would be a guess. Have it dyno tuned for the best results. I have the same ste up, and added fuel in 4,000 to 7,000 rpm range and it helped.

How do you like the 4.10 gears?

spike_africa 07-29-2006 01:42 PM

I have a hard time seeing it making the engine run so lean that you would need to add fuel for it.

ShapeShifter 07-29-2006 09:00 PM

well for one 4.10s go in, in about a week and two i just installed the TB/Plenum,and CAI..and if feels pretty good!...so im just gonna do a tune a little later in the week and get my 4.10s in ASAP...thanks for everyones opinions and help!

I'll swap you straight across. I have an accufab 70 but I could use another 75mm too. And typically, you'll lose a little tq if there's too much TB but it's not much of an issue... we're talking about miniscule numbers here.

ShapeShifter 07-31-2006 09:57 AM

yeah,im just gonna see how it works out after the tune, and if im not diggin it, ill give you a holler, cool?

r3dn3ck 07-31-2006 09:59 AM
