Max gear speed and weird claim!!!
 

My current gt tops 1st at 35-ish, 2nd in 65 3rd in 100, and 4th in 125. If i get 3.73 or 4.11 or really, anything for that matter, what will the new gears top out at? And a friend of mine said that torque actually increases with new gearing, while hp doesnt. Is this true? He is also dead set that new gearing in gt's will kill vettes. While I am aware this is untrue, can someone give me a technical reason for this? THANKS!

gears dont add power or tourqe they just give the car abetter mechanical advantage. as for toping out you sure it only does 125 in 4th mine has been to 135 in 4th gear? anyway why do you care what speeds the gears will go to, its not like you will ever be able to get to the top of 4th ot the top of 5th anyway.

Well, I've never hit redline in 4th. Just gotten pretty close. I shift early into bc I dont want it just hanging near redline for about 5 seconds. Just not good for the car. And its not like its super important what it tops at, but it was q question. Why respond with a "why would you wanna know that?" I'm just curious.

I was worried id lose my highway top speed and racing BMWs and such after switching to 4.10s. i probably have a top speed of 135 now with the 4.10s, Ive got a lot more pickup in 4th and 5th gear, no need to downshift. I know Ill probably kill 5th gear soon. Time to start looking for a 6 speed t-56, for some better gas miliage.

And on the gas miliage issue. Im getting 1.4mpg better after switching to 4.10s. I live in Delaware, im not really on the highway, and everything in my state isnt far!!

It has no problem redlineing 4th gear, and im sure it could redline 5th now.
