torque question
how come in my mach 1, if i hold the throttle at 4200-4500rpms in 2nd gear and then step on it, it sets me back in the seat pretty good, but if i do the same thing in 1st gear it doesnt even seem as strong? 1st gear has a bigger multiplier = more power, so why isn't it as strong?

Your tires are probably spinning if you drop it from 4500 in first gear wether you realize it or not. I know if I do that in mine, ill just spin at redline and can hold the spin for quite some time.

it could also be that your clutch isnt a good match w/ your power... maybe a better set of tires and/or a clutch will make a difference:beerchug: |
Try launching in first gear at a lower rpm. When your sure tires are hooked up then matt it through the gears smoothly. Mustangs are light and you aint gonna hear the spinning tires all the time. I noticed that even with a stock GT.. So you should be getting some G's with your Mach 1 if your hooking up

Matt's right. It doesnt feel like it pulls very hard in first but try to coast around 4k in 1st gear, with the clutch completely out and just coasting like normal, and then gas it. Your tires should be spinning enough so they dont break loose and then watch your speedo jump
