They did a write up on it in this month's MM and FF. I also read some skeptical discussions about the motor that was used for the testing on Stangnet and how it would actually respond on a stock GT in the real world.. It's intriguing but from what I saw from the dyno sheets in MM and FF; it did nothing until the higher revs and actually lost some Tq in spots.. you'll have to read it yourself. I'm glad they're finally coming out with some intakes but the end conclusion was that the stock piece is very well designed (other than the plastic construction) for your basic stock block and bolt ons.. I guess edelbrock is coming out with something too.. It's supposed to be on their website but not avbl yet?

I just picked up that issue up and I have yet to read that article. Stock intake is fine, like you said, other than it being plastic. Just concerned about puddles forming in there once I "spray" the car. Can't port stock either. No?

Here's another version.I like the coolant mod on the back of the intake. The pic's are of an unfinished prototype but you can see from the underside views that there would be some room for improving the shape of the runner mouths

There has been talk of a VRI unit that's being developed,Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords mentioned it in one of their articles and the Ford HP on the Dyno book that was just released has a dyno graph that shows very impressive gains on a 5.0 stroker engine.
With a stock PI intake and T/B using the long runner version there was a gain of 36 HP@6100rpm.The HP line ran parallel to the stock line untill it ran off the bottom of the chart at 3500 rpm.The short runner version had a gain of 75 hp@6300 rpm.with a loss below 3800 and again between 4400 and 5100.This was on an engine dyno.
The intake is more of a tunable length intake than variable like on the four valve engines.
The author,Richard Holdener, sold the rights to the intake to an unnamed company.Testing is underway.
