Traction on the way

I just ordered my 17X9 Bullitt's and subframe connectors. Once these are on hopefully I can use first gear again.

Nice dude! It must be rough not being able to use 1st gear because of too much power;)

subframe connectors dont help with traction.. the bullits wont help much either unless you put some sticker tires on the car.

I've got Eagle F1 GS-D3's in a 275/40 size on there already. I've talked to several people about the SFC's. The majority opinion is that since it's a convertible they'll help more than they would on a coupe.

IF you want traction you will need a drag radial of some type..

RedFirevert04GT 02-21-2006 02:00 PM

That's a sacrifice I'm not willing to make. This car has to be drivable in rain and other foul weather. Also I don't think I would like driving it with sidewalls with that much give in corners.

in case you didnt notice my sig im driving a vert also. subframe connectors will definitely help a vert more than a coupe (thats the general consensus everywhere) but they will not help traction. what they do is tighten up the frame by adding more braces to it. if you want more traction but dont want drag radials try ordering some upper and lower control arms. adjustables preferably. good luck with traction.

i dont think those mods will let you utilize first gear. im about to hit the track next week with my bald 275's i'll see how they do.

i feel my car twisting like a mo fo when im hooked up in second gear at 5k rpms front end just keeps coming up its crazy. i dont have sub frames.

I didn't notice that at all. Well as long as the SFC's do something for me. I'm looking forward to the car being a little stiffer, the shimmy's and shakes get irritating after a while on the road.

i wished i had that problem, of not being able to use first gear...:(
either way congrats on the wheels

You'll still LOVE the sfc's. They make such a huge improvement in the stiffness of the car. Esp. on the verts.
