Post it on www.cars.com and www.autotrader.com. Also make local flyers around the stores and drive around with a for sale sign in your car with your information. It will go...

I recently helped a close friend buy a used Mustang. What I learned was that the market was in shambles and owners have not realized it yet. Used cars just have no value...or much less than you might think.

Be sure to ask a reasonable price for the car and it will sell. Having the car on the market and dropping the price all the time is a killer. I say look up the KBB price for a private party sale and ask $1,000 more...take the KBB private party if it is oferred.

We can thank the following market factors for crappy re-sale:

1 - 2005 Mustangs
2 - New cars do not go up in price anymore from year to year.
3 - Incentives on new cars

Consider this, my best friend is a used car retailer. Used cars above $7,000 just don't sell. Cars in the $5,000 or less range move quickly. Used ones over $15,000 seem to move, but slow. That tough range is between $7,000 and $12,000 or so for some reason. It seems like the target audience in that price range just does not have the money OR they choose to buy new, inexpensive cars like saturns because they need warrenties. While people that spend $15k+ can get the financing etc.. are are just looking to save money over new. Your car is probably in that tough range to boot.

Not to mention we get royally screwed if we try to trade our cars in...BAH 2005 MUSTANG!
