07 Camaro

I just heard on speed that the 07 camaro has over 400hp with 30mpg. I wonder how they managed that.

csledd 02-06-2006 07:39 PM

lol, my friends modded GTP had one of those things that told you what your MPG was right then.. he could get 30 no prob just driving, and then he would stomp on it and get 3 mpg lol.

Six speed, low gear, low rpm.

mustangvsix 02-06-2006 08:51 PM

it probably has that thing where it shuts down some of the cylindars while crusing, then when you go to get on it, they all fire up...just my guess

yeah, a cross between low gearing and the "displacement on demand" engine. However, i thought those were only on hemi's. i guess not

Displacment on demand is GM, not Chrysler.

ok, well either way, the car wont be here til 08(remember, the 05 stang went on display over 2 years before it was released) so there's no way to know for sure what its mpg will be

GM has sent us the email already entailing the entire setup. DOT has rejected some design aspects but nothing in the motor and drivetrain. The engine is just an LS2.

Here's a good little video of the concept. Production is hoped to start in 2009.

Nothing is final on that car. I actually wouldn't even be surprised if the concept never made it to production since all these companies are going GREEN.

yeah but the Chrysler has a similar feature which turns of two cylinders while cruising in the 300. That was one of their selling points when the dealer by my house tried to get my dad to trade in the Town and Country for the 300..
