Chin Spoiler Trouble >:(

Ok, so.... WTF did you all use to attach your chin spoilers?

When i got mine, (ordered direct from ford during the big chinspoiler availability scare of 2005) it diddnt come with **** to fasten it on except for these 3 plastic screw things.

Anyways, i knew that **** wouldnt be enough, so i went to Checker auto and bought some more, and everything has been fine and dandy, except they dont seem to last long and they keep breaking.

Last night on my was home i ended up hitting a dip pretty hard SMACK! and now my ****ing chin spoiler is hanging off in the front.

Those plastic screws are bull****.

What does eveyone else use?

foncarelli 01-19-2006 02:48 PM

self tapping screws from the hardware store. I used about 10 of em. I need to replace mine too.

mustangvsix 01-19-2006 02:57 PM

i used just a pack of bolts and nuts from autozone and the thing is still as tight as the day i put it on.

I used the plastic pushpin things that came from MT. Works fine for my, not a problem after about 9 months of having it on.

I'm not sure what size, just go to the auto parts store and check out all the different sizes they have. I used around 10 or so..

Very good grass hoper... you learn quickly...

The plastic push pins are made to give. IF you would of hit the dip with screw your chin and front bumper would of been trashed. Id rather replace a chin spoiler than a bumper. You have to be more careful, I for one can not go through dips so I avoid them.

MattJ 01-20-2006 10:52 AM

I got some SS screws in mine and mines great.
Mines been on for a year and a half.

whitethunder46 01-20-2006 10:55 AM

I bought my one for my old car from ssinserts.com and it came with about 10-12 plastic push pins, never had a problem and held on great.

Thomas 01-20-2006 02:01 PM

i just used the hardware mt gave me,,havent had it out with it on yet but it seems very secure.

Icefreezen 01-20-2006 02:06 PM

I just put mine on and damn that looks sexy........I took 4.6 Love's idea and put about 10 SS screws in and that is way easier than trying to put those damn pushpins in
