Well she's official now.

Took the car up to dyno day at Modular Powerhouse yesterday, and had timmy do a tune on her. Dont have a baseline, just a but dyno, but she belted out 249 RWHP and 287 RWTQ which kicks ass in my opinion since I only have a prochamber and a tb/plenum. Tims amazing at what he does, and the car just straight hauls ass now. The midrange power it picked up is phenominal. I highly recommend a dyno tune to anyone who doesnt have one. :punk:

Thats sounds damn good for as few mods as you have. Congrats! You need 1 more hp so you can say 250 rwhp!

madmatt 01-15-2006 07:08 AM

LOL I know, Tim was pissed that it wouldnt go over the mark.

FritoBandito 01-15-2006 07:48 AM

I wanna get a tune this summer but I dunno if anyone around here does that sorta thing. Most shops around here are "carbeurated" minded and I don't wanna have someone do it that doesn't have experience. 250 rwhp is my goal with this thing so I'm glad to see you got there so easily.

Nice Matt!!

Hey Frito, there are a couple of places around here to have it done. The best is in KC but also one in Springfield.

csledd 01-15-2006 08:22 AM

man that's one slow car!! lol j/p :P

Dyno tunes are so freaking awesome, it also made my car feel like it came that way from the factory. I also gaiend a TON of extra horsepower and torque at 3500 rpms lol (was running lean)

GREG@94GT 01-15-2006 08:29 AM

not too shabby

Blk02stang 01-15-2006 09:01 AM

good numbers, we put my buddy's '04 mach 1 on the dyno yesterday and it hit 437rwhp and 460's rwtrq on a 150shot.

Id like to get mine tuned by bob kurgan in IL. How long were you on the dyno and how much was it?

Thanks, I'll have to seriously look into that this summer when I have some cash freed up.

sorry for my stupidity, but how exactly does a dyno tune work? Is it similar to getting a handheld programmer, or am i completely off?

Thanks guys, I had the car tuned at a dyno day. Tim seriously did the car in less than an hour, and that was with the car cooling between the runs. He is a friggin magician at this, and I was totally stoked. It was 450 all together with the XCAL2 which, is a FRIGGIN awesome deal, as just a mail order xcal is like 400. So basically I got an hour of Tims tuning for 50 bucks. And yes, the car is so damn smooth now. It feels stock, doesnt have to search for an idle anymore, and i got 25 mpg on the way home. Needless to say, im pleased. I recommend it to ANYONE.

nice man...how much did you gain do you think from the tune? and hmmm I need a bunch of things before I can get a tune...my goal...fastest V6 on Mting forum...lol Now i just need a job!...

madmatt 01-16-2006 07:05 AM

Not a clue as I didnt have a baseline, but the butt dyno says it gained a good amount. Honestly, the numbers mean jack crap to me, as the car is SOOO much smoother getting into the powerband, and doesnt search for an idle. Numbers are great to look at, but driving the car is where you really notice it.

this is wat ive always wanted 2 kno, do i have to have my own handheld tuner like xcal 2 when i go get dynoed or do they supply it

foncarelli 01-16-2006 07:53 AM

They supplied it, by that I mean, they had it in stock I paid for it, and he used that to put the program in my car. And no, I only stayed for the day Saturday, wish I couldve though. Brian (Dr. Peppers) Blue Saleen put out 827 ft/lbs of torque on the spray...
