Great Day for A Ticket...

So Today is the new release of volume 4 Family Guy and of course yours truely has to have it. So i got my Lazy ass up this mornin (After a night of partying til 3 am) and drove to best buy. And of course on the way back I get nailed...45 in a 30..which I swear is a 35...or they have just changed it. I was passin a Uhall Truck in the middle lane...lets remember this is a 30mph 6 LANE HIGHWAY WITH A MEDIAN!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!...DON"T BUILD A 6 LANE 30 MPH ROAD!!!!!!!!!!! IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF DISPURSING TRAFFIC IF THE FASTEST PEOPLE CAN GO IS 30 MPH!!!!....GOOD LORD! Newho I wasn't even racing and i usually drive 40 on that road no problem, i mean 45 isn't a break neck death defying speed you know?...come on, why can some cops give you a break when your not being malicious...AND WHY DOES IT TAKE 30 minutes of me sitting infront of FLorida STATE!!! to figure out my record...OMG and then after holding you he's the nicest cop, as if he's not handing me a $150 fine! I mean I laugh when you guyz street race and get pulled over but come on! Maybe I should become a highway engineer and fix all the speed limits, someone should have realized if traffic piles up at 30, in a 6 lane road, SOMETHING ISN"T WORKING...

Any who thats my rant...i'm just guna pay it and let it be...they love outa state plates here free money, and they'll get it...cuz daddy and mommy make more then most of the chiefs on the force...

Grimmz 11-29-2005 08:14 AM

great and now i look at the ticket and he didn't put down how much the fine is...good lord...he coulda really helped me out...

lol well atleast you got a good story to tell. At this point i'm like w/e it was really trivial, 45 mph some people can bike faster then that...tommarow i'll go and pay...DOh now this means ican't sneak in that Short Throw Shifter Before x-mas!

Oh well, they'll really hate me when i get the side exhaust...GIGGITY!

02-STANG-GT 11-29-2005 05:56 PM

I have a side exhaust on mine and love it ! Got picked up this summer on my motorcycle for going 61 in a 55 mile zone in the middle of nowhere on a 4 lane but just got a warning , like a was terror on the road !

Thats what i'm sayin 45...isn't even not worthy...

02-STANG-GT 11-29-2005 06:03 PM

The whole thing boils down to this , you were driving a fast looking car ! If you where driving a cluncker chances are nothing would have happened .

Ghostalker 11-29-2005 06:18 PM

i got nailed doing 74 in a 55... open roads with nothing on it... in the adirondacks on vacation... cop was coming over the crest of the hill as i was, going the other direction, he turned around and pulled me over... 145 dollar ticket... gay.
Keep in mind, i was driving the Gold Chrysler Sebring Convertible, with the top up. And he pulled me, one of various reasons, I had CT plates in NY, it was near the end of the month, and for some reason he thought i was lighting up a cigarette... i was 16 at the time and despise cigarettes... what a weird question to ask. I decided not to fight the ticket, although i know i wasnt doing 74 he just did that so it wasnt 20 over... i was doing closer to 65 that dirty piece.

GREG@94GT 11-29-2005 06:29 PM

always tell the cop that you support your local police!

Things not to say to a cop when you're pulled over...

Want to race to the station, Sparky?

I know I was weaving, but I can't find the Honeycomb Hideout!

On the way to the station let's get a twelve pack

Come on write the damn ticket, the bars close in 20 minutes!

How long is this going to take? Your wife is expecting me.

I'm surprised you stopped me, Dunkin Donuts has a 3 for 1 special!

Yeah you can see my license and registration, officer, but could you hold my beer for a minute?

Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in.

You know, I was going to be cop, but I decided to finish high school instead.

I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there are no cars around, that's how far I am behind the other cars.

You're NOT gonna check the trunk, are you?

Wow, You look just like the guy in the picture next to my girlfriend's bed.

Gee, officer! That's terrific. The police officer yesterday only gave me a warning too!

Do you know why you pulled me over? Good, at least one of us does.

Is it true that people become policemen because they are too dumb to work at McDonalds?

Aren't you one of the Village People?

Icefreezen 11-29-2005 06:51 PM

I just got my badge so when I get pulled over now I just whip out that bad boy.

DUDE!! GRIMMZ!!! don't you dare just pay it and let it be. Take the 4 hour online class and it'll not only lower your ticket price, but u wont get points on your record. the actual class is about $30, but dude...you'd be totally stupid to not take it...unless you just WANT to pay more insurance

What online class is this, can I get a link. I could use a few points off my license, I recently got a ticket for going 68 in a 55. That puts me up to 6pts off my license.

when you get the ticket(atleast where I live), you are given like one of 3 or 4 options

a)pay the ticket and get points

b) fight it in court

c)take class to not get points

It should give the information on the ticket of the website of the class but You have to take the class like within 30 or 60 days of getting the ticket. You can only take the class once per year and only 5 times in a lifetime. but it erases the points you WOULD get otherwise.

a week before getting my stang...in my 92 taurus, I was in an area i didnt know and clocked going 82 in a 55(which is bs bc the taurus was sweating at 85 mph) and I took the class, paid a percentage of the ticket, and have ZERO points on my record

Mossberg 11-29-2005 07:45 PM

Tennessee St? :D

When I was there, we used to do about 50 through that area. The road is so wide, it doesn't feel right going any slower.

stfu! it doesnt matter what your driving, i used to drive an 01 buick century, and got pulled over for 55 in a 45.... my mom drives an 04 is300, and got pulled over for 65 in a 45 a couple of days ago. meanwhile, me, in my 02 mustang, went up to this hs in the middle of the night and just started doing donuts all over the parking lot... i mean all over, whipping it around, burning out, etc. i had my fun, start to leave, and all of a sudden a few lights flip on, right at me (headlights and spotlights on the side) and the light bar lights up on top, and he guns it torward me....
F*CK
he was just sitting off in the very very back of the parking lot, away from any lights and any enterences, just waiting for some one to **** around at the school, orrr i guess for some jackass kid to **** around in the parking lot.
anyway, the cop was nice, i was polite to him, turned off my car, turned my lights on and grabbed my drivers license, admitted to why i went up there (to go do donuts, its an empty parking lot and i was maaaaajorly bored sitting at home) no bull****, no excuses. just told the truth, made it easy for him, and he let me off with a warning.
which i seriously respect him for.. i probably woulda nailed my ass right there, butttt yeah. he was nice and i still learned my lesson... i wont be pulling that again! haha

6 lane road with a median...and it's a 30!...oh so mad about that...f'in old people makin rules tryin to make it safe...cop told me how they had been watching T street because they've had 9 traffic fatalities because people have been speeding down tennessee...WELL I"M SRY BUT IF SOME DRUNK PUNK WALKS INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET HE'S ASKIN FOR IT...getting wasted beyond belief is 1000 times more dangerous then driving 45 in a 30...at those break neck speeds i can sort of control the car...but only slightly...

and they can't even blame it on southern peeps here cuz they're the crazy red necks in the trucks runnin people over...

But i'm still swearin my maryland plate is what catches their eyes...o0o0o money he ain't guna take the charge away...found some rich northern kid speeding he'll pay the ticket...w/e so the guy was right this time...lol...

Your best bet would be to find an attorney that will guarantee two things: you never have to go to court and the ticket will be dropped. You may have to pay court fees, but in my experiences they are less than the cost of the ticket.

I say this because if you ever want to get a job that where your driving record matters at all, taking the class does you no good because they will still see that you got the ticket. And if it makes you feel any better, I was advised to take it to court by a police recruiter who denied me because of my driving record.

Well that sucks...

dont even man. I'm tellin you grimmz, call up the county clerk(thats what I did for my ticket) and they'll first tell you what the lowered ticket price will be(since it's lowered if u take the class) and the person should also be able to tell you what site to go to for the ticket class. Its basically like, $25-30, and about 15-20 sessions that are anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes each and you're basically forced to read the whole thing and answer questions based on the reading. BUT u answer the questions on the same page as the info so bsaically...if u got a spare 4 hours over a period of 2 months(they give u 2 months to complete it), just do them like one session per day or something. It's not bad at all.

Do NOT pay for an attorney: thats a waste of money and time. Just take the class, save yourself hassle and no insurance increase. Insurance companies are actually by law not allowed to increase your premium if you take the class

Waste of time and money? Tell me then why my fiance has gotten out of 5 speeding tickets in the past year without paying any more than 90 bucks a pop without ever going to court? What time is being wasted? This is the best option by far if your driving record may affect your future or you took the class in the past year. This is also what the recruiter for a large police department told me to do if I get anymore tickets.
