The 06 Mustang Rave
 

Ok a few months ago I started the "05 Mustang Rant" thread so I thought I would get your opinions on the front of the new 06 Pony Package. I LOVE IT!! I am sure you guys have seen the new grill change with the grill lights being much smaller and just like the grill on the 65'.

Also the what do you think about the clear roof on the Saleen? I think this is a radical change to the options Ford is starting to offer. Would you guys like to see this on the regular Stangs or do you even like the new tops?

I don't like the new grille's.. and I didn't care too much for the 05 GT grilles with the fog lights up in there. Really the only grille's I care for are the Saleen and the soon to be 07 shelby gt500. A buddy I work just turned his 05 into a Faleen :(

I do love those clear roofs though... looks pretty sweet in my opinion.

Yeah, the clear roof is amazingly awesome. I think it would just be cool to drive in the rain with that roof just so you can watch the rain hit the roof and stuff. I'm not too fond of the +05 body style. I like the 99-04 body style the best, just looks sleek and mean. If you ask me the I think the +05 body style looks like a block of wood that someone took a dull chizel too.

the 05 style just doesn't seem to have all that muscle car jazz to it.. kinda like the charger, GTO, and any other muscle car they brought back. :( I guess I can wait around about 40 years and they'll have a retro 99-04 stang! lol

Haha good one. The most modern "muscle car" that pisses me off is the Dodge Charger. All they did was turn the Magnum into a 4 door sedan and slap a new emblem on it. And that's after they slapped a body kit on a neon and called it a SRT-4. Looks like Dodge is getting a little lazy on the drawing board. Their basic design on their trucks hasn't changed in I don't know how many years.

One more thing I don't understand. Charger and GTO, new ones of course, are all 4 doors. Who ever said muscle cars have to be practical? They are made for speed, not to tote the kids around at 150mph.

GTO's are 2 door. The ford dealership in my town just got in an 06 atlantic blue gt with bullitts. I wouldn't trade my car for it straight up.

dont like any bit of the 05/06 but i havent seen the clear glass roof. might look good i guess! i wanna see it!

nice but isn't the clear roof a rip off of CDC? their GLassback?

Well I really like the Pony package grill on the wifes 06.I also am starting to love the new GT's.You really need to drive one to understand why alot of people want one.They ride and handle so much better and have real good power.I still like the 99-04 better but if the 05/06 is modded right it looks and performs damn good.

lol.. a guy I work with is a hardcore Dodge fan.. him and his dad both. His dad has a 70's charger and they both say the same thing about the new ones. It sucks. To me the 05/06's are bearable.. but any of the 05/06 Saleen's, Roush's, Steeda's, and the Shelby make it look much better.

glass roof would be nice, and maybe a precursor to a hardtop convertable???please???

I think the same thing, the new stang is missing something! It just doesn't have that mean muscle car look to it. I went and test drove a 06 GT, and as soon as we got back to the dealership I walked straight back to mine and drove off. I know I have some mods done to mine, but to me the 06 just didn't feel like it had the power that everyone talks about.

yeah, I've rode in 1 but haven't test drove one myself yet.. they do seem to be missing something. Oh well, I like the 05/06 because they sold so well, whatever keeps them alive I guess.

well i drive nothing but fords at my job, thats "my job" that i do! And well i havent driven a GT yet, but i have driven an 05 v6 and yea it drives well and seems like it has more power than past v6''s but its THE LOOK of the new stangs! i hate it! :cool:

Yep, my dad and I test drove one Halloween weekend, it was a blakc vert with a CDC Shaker hood...Sweet lookin, and i like how 18's come stock...i couldn't see you using anything smaller on that car...pick up is REAlly nice...

I love the pony package grille.

the question is, will the dealer swap it on to a V8 for me if I buy a new GT?

if you buy a new GT I want your wheels :D
