OMG!!! Some kid in my school has a 1990 Exploder and he put a body kit on it that he got for free. so anyways i come into school today and he was like you are so stupid. i was like why do you say?? he was like how much money have you dumbed into your exhaust. i was like about 5-6 hundred. he is like wtf is the point of that. just to sound good. why dont you do something that will actually increase performance. i was like ya your right running an o/r pipe and SLP doesn't give me any power. he said yea about 10 horse if your lucky. i was like don't talk to me unless you know what you are talking about. and he was like no you dont know what you are talking about. and i told him it is building blocks that is goin to lead up to more stuff. and he was like yea okkk.
just thought i would share that with you guys.

i got that this morning from some guy driving a 01 TA with full exhaust. yes headers back. he beat me on the launch then once i passed him up he stopped laughing at me. i have a sleeper no A pillar to give me away.

and lance i know what u mean!!! my freind has 5.0 (93 or sumthing) and he thinks its SOOO MUCH BETTER ..i try to explain to him about the heads and air intake and blah blah blah, and he never wants to race

If i had my pick i would take a 5.0 with gt-40 heads any day over a 4.6.

I have the oposite..people ask me if I have a 5.0 in mine...It's like dude, they never had 5.0s in this body style.

IT's even better when old geezers ask "what ya got in that?" and when u say "281" theyre like "WOW!" as if a)it's a new engine and b)it's really that big. In the line of v8's, we're one of the smallest, so old people are weird in their reactions.

so I've been looking for a shop to do my exhaust for me cause I don't have time. As I was looking I found one where the mechanic asked me if I had a 5.0 in my 99 Crown Vic. When I told him it was the 4.6, he said "They only put a V6 in those?" I just got back in the car and burnt the tires on my way out.

The more naive and unaware the masses are in regards to the 4.6L variety the better. 99% of the people...especially in High School that think they know something about cars, don't have a clue.

The next time someone comes at you with a smart remark like that ask him to name a 5.0L motor that runs sub 10's with a Stock block,crank, heads, and cams? It's been done on several occasions with 96-98 Cobra's.

Considering the "lack" of aftermarket for these motors, and the fact that PI headed GT's make substantially more HP stock then their 5.0L brethren with better gas mileage and less displacement accounts for something. Most if not all of the n/a pushrod mustangs making impressive power can be attributed to increased displacement (which is entirely possible as well with a OHC configuration.), or a combination of a slew of aftermarket Heads, cam, valvetrain components, Intake manifold etc. available.

What does the aftermarket have for Modular Motors....not quite the same selection. But that is rapidly changing. :cool:
