mods list....

ok....so heres the deal...i have a mod list and want some tweaking to it by u guys:

1) Exhaust: SLP Longtube Headers
Mac shorty prochambers (uncated) or SLP shorty x w/ cats (and race pipes)
SLP Loudmouth Cat back

2) 4.10 gears w/ Predator and Gear Lube

3) MGW Short throw shifter

4) H&R Sport Springs and Bump Steer Kit

5) Throtle body and Plenum

6) KB 1.7L twin screw supercharger

all visual mods are coming as presents...the visual mods can wait a lil.

Badfish 11-01-2005 06:42 PM

on teh Kenne Belle, I think you mean Twin Screw :)

and what are you doing to the internals? if your forging your motor, might as well get the 2.2 l, and go all out, but forging is several thou.

just get a KB 1.7 kit, and a tune, and have a nice reliable 400 rwhp daily driver

stanger00 11-01-2005 06:47 PM

its harder for 01 and up gt's to hit 400. with that kb you will get some mean low end torque youll love it. when i was making 350 hp my car felt hella strong. now that i have nearly 400 it almost feels the same up top but mid range its a beast. doing a rolling start at 30 will give a passenger minor whiplash. with a kb youll prolly compress a disk or somethin. good list wait on the internals and just go ahead and get the kb 2.2 for when you do get a built block youll kick your self if you do it the other way.

but if he doesnt have $$$$$$ a regular s/c on the stock block, mabey with a I/C for daily driving is fine

PureStang 11-01-2005 06:53 PM

im going to build another block....proly a 302..but wont be for a long long time...and being 17 i am kinda short on income but i got alot in the bank...about 5k saved and 2.5k to spend :)

but adding to the list would be nice

PureStang 11-01-2005 06:56 PM

oh..and i forgot to put the 4 bank chip in there too...that goes before the S/C

Lances03SVT 11-01-2005 06:57 PM

Go SCT instead af the Predator.

BrentK 11-01-2005 06:58 PM

Depends on how far you want to go with the car..If you do not want to build up your engine then get the 1.7, you will have no problem getting to 400 with so other mods....but if your going for 400+ horsepower get the 2.2 and of course you are going to have to forge the internals

PureStang 11-01-2005 07:01 PM

wat would i have to do to "beef up" the internals?

also...wats so great about SCT over the Predator?

stanger00 11-01-2005 07:09 PM

its more common at dyno shops then diablo.

Lances03SVT 11-01-2005 07:11 PM

And designed more for just a Mustang.

PureStang 11-01-2005 07:12 PM

does it have the same options to tune as the predator?

Lances03SVT 11-01-2005 07:14 PM

Yes and probally more and like Stanger said,it's alot easier to find a tuner to get it dynoed.

PureStang 11-01-2005 07:15 PM

k then sct intead of predator....

any other additions to the list?

WaterDR 11-01-2005 07:34 PM

BTW, if I were doing that much work, my choice to use Diablo or SCT would be based on what the my tuner used that I selected to to work on the thing.

Lances03SVT 11-01-2005 07:41 PM

Thats true and with a KB they have thier own tune.

whitethunder46 11-01-2005 07:47 PM

I've been looking at the 1.7KB as a supercharger. However I think i'm gonna lean more towards the procharger kit, much less expensive. Procharger is a little different in the sense that the boost will build up as your RPMs build up and will not have maxed out ur PSI at only 2000RPM like the KB setup. Little easier to drive in the street not to mention gas mileage

MachGT 11-01-2005 07:53 PM

actually, for the tuner, find the nearest reputable dyno tuning shop and ask them what they prefer to use and go with that. Then you don't have to drive twice as far to get it tuned then ya need to!

mysteed 11-01-2005 11:19 PM

Sounds like a solid mod list to me. What were you lening towards as far as visual appearance mods?

madmatt 11-02-2005 05:30 AM

Ok, first off, forget the 4.10s if you want a KB, those will just aid you in roasting the tires. Secondly, skip the predator, either use KB's tune or get a custom SCT tune burned for it from a local SCT tuner. Next, Drag radials, youll thank me later for that tip lol. Oh, and do the supercharger FIRST. FIRST FIRST FIRST Forget EVERYTHING ELSE. Once you get the blower saved up for and done, everything else is cheaper, and therefor, easier to save up for and wait for. I wish I had not spend a DIME on my car other than a mongoose kit from MPH. Instead, Ive spent the same money, and have a loud, slow car. Maybe you should look here. www.modularpowerhouse.com. I almost feel bad for giving you that link, because you will see even more stuff you want. Also, if you car isnt paid off yet, do that FIRST before the blower. Just some hard learned advice, take it or leave it from a fellow teenage stang driver. Oh, and most importantly, have fun with it. It doesnt all come together at once, so dont get depressed when you dont have the money to blow it on the car. Oh, and that brings me to another thing. DONT SPEND ALL OF YOUR MONEY ON YOUR CAR. Buy something for yourself every once in a while too, it gets old putting all your money in a car.

Oh yea, scratch the throttle body and plenum setup, you wont need a plenum with the KB, and they sell their own tb/intake kit.

PureStang 11-02-2005 05:30 PM

cant get a s/c yet...mom wont let me yet....it stinks tho....i think that i will get the list i have listed above with the next year and a half...like before i start college....

as far as visual....rims are coming chirstmas....going to put DR on the stock tires and some beefy street tires on the new ones....then proly just some little things here and there.....2 blue stripes down the middle stuff like that...oo and the 380r front bumper and rear wing....but they can wait for a lil while....i like performance w/ the look of stock...sleeper style...

whitethunder46 11-02-2005 06:53 PM

What kind of rims are you getting? Don't forget if your stang is a year round car like mine, you might not want to use your new rims in the winter, therefore putting DR's on your stock wheels is prolly not a good idea if your gonna use them in the winter.

+1...also don't go with high performance summer tires...cuz in light snow you'll wish you hadn't...omg there was atleast once time i almost **** myself tryin to get home in 2'' of snow...

stanger00 11-03-2005 05:17 AM

why would you drive a mustang in snow anyways. i never do. get some protectant for the rims no matter what and spray them off and clean them if as soon as your done driving too. it will keep your wheels looking brand new.

whitethunder46 11-03-2005 05:35 AM

If i had a choice i wouldnt drive it. but as being in college currently its hard to make enough money for a 2nd car

stanger00 11-03-2005 07:20 AM

i dont have a second car. but my friends hook me up with rides to and from work.

whitethunder46 11-03-2005 10:35 AM

 lucky
