What next??
Im having a tough decision of what to do next on my mod list?? Heres the list!! You can edit it and tell me what to change too! I am leaning towards the pulley mod, since its the cheapest and gives some hp gains! But i dunno, what you guys think??
MOD LIST! Bassani X pipe w cats Bassani Headers Accufab Plenum/Throttle Body 75mm High Power Electric Water Pump Windage Tray Kit ASP Under drive Pulleys 4.6L Rotating Assembly 4.6L 2V P.I. Stage 1 Aluminum Driveshaft Intake Spacer Hellion Turbo Kit 18 x 9 n 18 x 10 DD Chrome FR500’s Wheels Chrome Lug nuts Nitto 555’s tires 265/35/R18’s & 295/35/R18’s tires Eibach springs Pro Kit KENWOOD DDX7015 - KENWOOD 6.5 DOUBLE DIN TOUCH SCREEN |
I'd get some gears next, but thats just me; and why do you need a windage tray?
PS: if you're gonna get an aftermarket plenum,T/B combo you don't need an intake spacer. |
Windage Tray
windage trays help to reduce drag on the crank, thus freeing up hp. I am also looking to do this to my 96 gt. They come standard on cobras. Some claim +12 hp with the windage tray kits, but most of that is going to be more in your high range racing situations. Not as much down low, but obviously less drag, more hp. Similar philosophy as underdrive pullies.
That is why I made a previous post about engine support bars. The kmember has to be dropped to remove the oil pan (at least on my model anyway). I was planning to do suspension work at the same time to save time and hassle since the kmember will be down anyway. Just giving you something to think about. You will need to either pull the engine or get one of the engine support bars that stradle the fenders to support the engine while the k is down, while still giving you access to the oil pan. So I would plan on doing that eibach spring kit at the same time. Scott |
Man, honestly, just buy a supercharger after you get some gears. There is no point in spending the 5 grand to get about 60 hp at best when you could spend about 5 grand and get 400 at the rear wheels. Just my opinion.

Well i didnt have gears! Because if i installed gears, then after that i have to do a tune! And thats an extra 400 bucks! ok no intake spacer!

And if you know enough, or willing to learn, get the pro racer's package and then you can just retune once you do certain mods. There would reach a point though when you would have to go to a dyno, but at least then you would already have what they needed to tune it. The tuner can grow with the car, and you can be taking advantage of some extra power all along the way.

The rims/tires are more of a styling upgrade then anything. Which is more important: styling or performance? Plus, the bigger rims and tires will throw off the speedo. The tuner can correct that too. The common denominator seems to be the tuner, and although gears don't add hp, they will be the biggest bang for your buck. Scott |
So what gears would i need for a turbo setup! Ive heard 3.73's and 4.10's are good gears to go with! So basically gears n tune first huh guys??? haha

First ask yourself how far out the turbo is. If its about 2 year away, then go with 4.10s, and then swap em out later. If it is soon soon, then get the 3.55, but I would pay someone to put the 3.55's in if I had to be stuck with em for 2 years waiting.

Id go 4.10s if I did it again. You wont be worried about not having "room". Youll have plenty of room. 4.10s dont make your car a race car.

I'm happy with my 3.73's and if i were to do it again, i'd stay with my 3.73's.. :)
