Functionalize Hood Scoop???
Has anybody tried this?
I was thinking of taking off the hoodscoop and cutting a large hole under the scoop and putting the scoop back on with a grill that will allow air flow. Has anyone tried this? Would there be any real benefit to this? Would there be any chance of it causing problems? I hate having a non functional hoodscoop, would be nice to have one that works, even if the intake is not connected to it. Any thoughts on this? |
It will fly off as you go down the road from what I've read and been told.

Ive heared that as long as long as you make sure the hole beneath it is large enough it wont fly off. <grin> There are always ways to re-inforce it.
Anyone have any reccommendations on hoods with functional scoops?????? |
Just get a cowl......

If you cut it, won't rain just pour onto your motor? Just pretend its real- its cheaper that way.

people have done it, but not only do you have to reinforce it so it dosnt fly off, you have to re-enforce the hood so it doesnt collapse or something like that, somone on some forum i post on did it, and it works, just too much work IMO
great hoods for decreasing heat are the 03/04 cobra "heat extractor" hoods, and of course the almighty cowl :D (which is what im doing) but there are many more |
Its not worth the hassle IMO.......

We had one that came in on a trade in where he cut the bottom. it was pretty useless. Buy a functional hood instead of chopping up the one you have.
|
or you could put the mach1 hood and shaker system on it like i did
