What car security system is best for me?
 

So last night my freinds 95 GT in great condition, got boosted. When he told me...I decided to get a security system. I dont know much about them...what is a good one that isnt too expensive?? Any info is appreciated...Thanks

Rottweiler. $600 and probably $10 a week to feed. Make sure to crack the windows.

Honestly, I wouldnt spend the money. If someone wants your car, they will have it. It sucks, but thats the plain truth. Just invest in a gun. Or, Ive heard good things about clifford alarms. Or viper.

Well a good security system might deter them...because last night all somone did was break the window and hotwire my buddies GT...I dont want that to happen

I have always used Clifford with no issues.

just get a blue or red LED...hook it up to a switch and some sort of circuit board so it will flash like every 2 seconds.....that should deter them....its cheap n may "imitate" some people.....haha...thats wat i would do if cause i dont have the money....

The only way they are going to steal your car... guy... is if they have a chipped key..

If you try to hotwire it, use a non chipped key or any of that it will kill the fuel pump, there is a nice fat hidden red button in your trunk on the left hand side of your trunk that is the reset button. Can this be overcome? Well, yeah, a seriously good booster can do this without trouble, but it is not worth the effort for a used mustang gt with a bad bumper. <grin>

I dont think the 95 Gt's had that feature.

I wouldnt even worry about it. If somone wants your car they will need a flatbed trailer to take it to a shop to crack the code. Anyone with that level of stealing sophistication is not gonna steal yer pony, they will be looking for a Ford GT instead.

Trust me, with the built in security system, nobody is gonna waste thier time for your car. But that doesent mean they wont sit there and give you a nice set of pinstripes with a set of keys. :D

My advice, if you get anything go with viper, cause if you get close to it it will go off, that alone should keep the morons away.

What you really have to worry about are the amatures that dont know about the fuelpump kill and will try to steal yer car, cant get it hotwired, and then decide to vandalize the crap out of it. No security system will stop vandals if they really have the hankerin for causing trouble.

I decided to just get a kill switch, and an autolock, should be combined price of no mroe than 150-200 bucks

Thats real bad what happened to that Cobra but it could of been stolen on a Flatbed and with no alarm sounding no1 will notice. I say get an alarm that makes noise plus the new Clifford has a paging system so if someone is messing with your Stang your alarm pad will notify you.

i'm actually getting the viper responder installed today. it has the pager to let me know what happence if a warning chirp or full alram is set off. i'm getting it installed for $400. that's the alarm, the trunk opener, and some type of relay that's in the car because of the vert. I will let you guys know how it turns out. My brother in law is getting the same thing in his stang his got a 95 gt vert. He picked the car up last week and over the weekend some punk kids through eggs at it :mad: . not sure what an alarm can do about that but it makes him feel safer.
