Would anyone have any use for 3 fair condition wheels?
There is a crack that's starting to develop in my front left wheel, it's noticeable in the paint but isn't all the way though the spoke yet. I think it's been developing for a while as Ive noticed the powdery metal residue leaking from it. I'm also tired of my wheels, so rather than spending $120 on a black wheel that will be in perfect shape versus 3 knocked up ones I think I'll just buy a new set in winter. Thing is, I don't know if I can even sell them, they all have some minor curb rash and they look like they need to be refinished, the black paint is off in many small spots and the clear-coat on the dishes is scratched. Does anyone have uses for wheels like these?

What wheel are you going to replace them with?
I could use a set for the winter up her in jersey, anythings better then stock lol
Think I'm gonna go with anthracite FR500s
Do u have any pics of how they look currently?
I could use a spare set of rears lol
Why not get the cracked rim repaired and sell em as a set of four?
Cause it'd probably cost as much to reliably repair the damage as I would be able to sell for. lol.
I can take photos of the wheels later. |
u can sell anything on craigslist, just a matter of getting what u want. people have one or two bad wheels all the time just like u. they see three decent wheels and one f'd up wheel and buy them to cover the one or two bad ones they have. black fr500's might sit for a while though. if they were anthracite bullitts it would be a quick sale for u
Man, anthracite bullitts are so damned boring. Haha.
yeah they def are boring lol, is the one wheel drivable on ?
The cracked one? Well uh..I'm driving on it, haha.

plus, even for my 16x8's i can't find a snow tire so i have to buy cooper sport tires that have an "aggressive tread" pattern. lol i wonder how much better my car would drive in the winter if i had skinnier snow tires. might even go vdub and stretch some skinnies on my rim. >.> |

stock rims are best for the winter months. here in ny, my black 16x8 95 cobra reps sit on top of the snow. i'm sure 17x9/10.5's won't do you any good. skinnies are good in the snow.

You must be looking horrible at shopping for tires because I have even found snow tires able to fit my 17x9s....
so are you getting rid of these wheels or what haha

i wouldn't call this shopping: going to tire shop and asking for snow tires, them telling me they can't get any in my size, me buying coopers because my tires are bald due to camber-alignment fuck up.

Well I got some new front tires and was going to get them put on today, but upon taking the wheels off I saw that the crack is much worse than it looks from the outside. It's completely through one of the spokes on the outer edge.
Attachment 13686 Attachment 13687 So this means can't put on tires today and I am pretty much forced to buy a new black wheel, sigh. AM discount, anyone? |
too much torque... lol

I can't see a difference other than one looking cleaner.
how long have you had those set of rims? ...and why did it develop a crack? i'm wanting to question the quality of construction here.
