Well after over a month, the store I had prepaid my pistol through got some Generation 3 Glock 19s, but they were compensated, not my style. After finding out they didn't plan to get anymore gen 3's for 'a long time' I said fuck it, I handled a Gen 4 pistol for about 30 minutes, checked the recoil spring and slide for the recess, and went home with it. I was/am very weary of Gen 4 9MM Glocks because of their issues with the recoil springs, this one has the 04 spring which is supposedly the one that makes it work as good as a Gen3, only time will tell.

Made on 2/3/2011, 2 days after my birthday, blue label pistol with 3 mags and a 5.5# trigger spring.

I'm going to a members-only range on Saturday that is very lax with rapid fire rules. I bought 200 rounds of WWB, and 100 of S&B, all 115gr and all real shitty range ammo, going to put 2 mags of the Gold Dots through it and then shoot the crap ammo. If it hiccups just once I will be doubtful of this gun. I do like the RTF, though.

whitestang04 03-16-2011 05:04 PM

Nice choice on the Gold Dots. I always carry those or Ranger T's.

Oh and here you may be needing this http://glockparts.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156571&CAT=737 :p

PColav6 03-16-2011 05:05 PM

Haha, if this 04 spring doesn't do the job I'll consider it.

whitestang04 03-16-2011 05:08 PM

I'm just picking on you. I'm sure the stock one will be fine but if it's not at least you know where to look. If you haven't seen his videos yet google Hickok45.

whitestang04 03-16-2011 05:12 PM

Oh and whats up with the holster it looks like a modified Blackhawk Serpa? Is that something you made?

PColav6 03-16-2011 05:14 PM

It's an Itac retention with the paddle-mount ground down and a bolt mounting it to a piece of an L-bracket I cut off. It's made for a G17 so there was some extra room to have the bolt go through the holster and not hit the pistol.

That holster is legit. When it's pushed back, I'd never know it was there.

zigzagg321 03-16-2011 07:25 PM

Nice set-up Pee! Carjackers GET FUCKED!!!

147gr+p will make that shitty gen 4 design run decently.

Lazerred6 03-16-2011 07:33 PM

I'm surprised thats legal there. In Michigan that would be totally illegal

That's fair game in the Gunshine state. ;)

mustangV6_04 03-16-2011 08:01 PM

That holster owns! I want one!

Shadow_Stang 03-16-2011 08:53 PM

I've actually had that exact same idea, putting the holster beside the seat. Looks awesome man.

zigzagg321 03-16-2011 10:33 PM

I wear mine while I drive.. cant tell its there. The right holster means a lot.

Nice work Pee. I just ordered 500 rounds of Winchester Ranger ammo for my G23 from that site you posted on my thread. About $160 shipped to my door which is not bad considering it's hard to find .40 ammo close to me and when I do, it's over priced.

SG ammo are good people, I buy all of my shotgun/pistol ammo through them. Speer gold dots are half the price compared to other websites.

Thanks for the comments guy.

That holster is pretty awesome, I bet it get's work done a lot better than my box cutter I keep in the door compartment.

PColav6 03-17-2011 10:49 AM

Haha, here's a video of unholstering/reholstering and storing it.

I have to say, that's pretty badass

mustangV6_04 03-17-2011 05:51 PM

make me one!!

mustangvsix 03-18-2011 08:37 AM

nice pick up on the gun, and the holster is awesome. When I finally purchase a handgun to carry I will be doing that.

probiker427 03-18-2011 11:50 AM

i want one!

PColav6 03-19-2011 02:14 PM

Shot the Glock for the first time today, and I'm going to have to say that is acceptable, I'm not in love with it yet.

Fired 200 WWB - 1 FTE, I wasn't gripping the pistol as firm as I normally would, so I could just write it off as limp-wristing.
100 S&B went through fine
48 Speer Gold Dot 124+ P went through fine.

It's a breeze to shoot, I was able to hit a 12" plate at 25 yards about 60% of the time, 10-15 yards was easy but my grouping is about 1.5" off to the left. Also, I was getting slide bite on a few shots which started to hurt like the balls and could have affected my accuracy afterwards, I meant to bring the smaller retaining pin so I could try it without the back strap, but forgot. I'm going to take the back strap off, though, I think that's the reason for the slide bite. Compared it to my friend's G3 G17 and his is just a bit more comfortable, it's a breeze to shoot at 25 yards.

I probably need to shoot another 200-300 rounds through this to get comfortable with it.

Will post pics/videos later.

whitestang04 03-19-2011 06:22 PM

Sounds like a decent day at the range. I hope you have better luck than I had in getting that Glock to shoot straight. I ALWAYS shot my Glocks to the left, about two inches left at 7 yards. I think it had to do with the grip angle since I haven't had the same problem with Sig's, 1911's or CZ's.

PColav6 03-19-2011 10:58 PM

I shoot all of my friends' G17s just fine, don't know what it is with the 19. I'm sure with practice I'll get better.

zigzagg321 03-19-2011 11:22 PM

Most people not used to the Glock trigger shoot low left.

learn how to shoot the staple gun gwasshoppa

PColav6 03-19-2011 11:25 PM

I am used to Glock triggers. Not 5.5# ones like this has, though. The G17 has a much lighter feel.

whitestang04 03-20-2011 06:38 AM

A 3.5 connector would be a quick and inexpensive way to test that theory.

zigzagg321 03-20-2011 09:44 AM

If you go with a #3.5 connector, get the Ghost Rocket, its MUCH smoother feeling than the Glock part.

PColav6 03-20-2011 01:10 PM

Can't do GSSF matches with non-Glock parts, though.

whitestang04 03-20-2011 01:45 PM

Then use the Glock "minus" connector that comes stock on the 34.
