Oh ok, gottcha. Yeah, 1.5 miles is all that mose PDs require timed so that's all a couple of my friends work out doing. I just hate how I can run for days on an elliptical but look like a gimpy camel on a treadmill or outside.

Going canoeing today with this girlfriend today. It's our 9 year anniversary and figured it would be a good chance to take our canoe out. We making a pit stop at a cave to hike through. Our canoe trip is about 10 miles, unfortunately I worked out arms and chest yesterday.

I've been sitting on 14 lbs lost for a damn while. I've seriously been 0.2 pounds from it for weeks. I think I'm in a battle between putting on muscle mass and losing fat. My arms and chest are really making some good improvements. All my pants are loose now, I've had to drill a hole in my belt to tighten it up enough. I started a new job as an electronic engineering lab tech a month ago and I don't know if it's helping or hurting. It's not a physical job at all, but it keeps me from being able to snack during the day, although I do get coffee once or twice a day. My lunch is decent, however by the time I get home I am usually too tired to go workout. I've been forcing myself to go this past week and have discovered that even if I'm tired when I go into the gym, I'll come out with more energy. So I think I will be able to get into a good routine.

i feel the same way man, my job is just to sit in front of a computer and draft surveys...

i started going back to the gym about a month ago...as of right now im able to left about 30lbs more since i started but its hard for me to loose my fat (belly and man boobs are the toughest, lol)

so i think im going to start talking some fat burnin pills to see if that helps

01FR500 05-20-2011 04:01 PM

I've been taking OxyElitePro and since I honestly couldn't tell you if it burned fat for me or not. It did however give me more engery, leading to longer more intense workouts. It also makes me not even think about food or snacks. If I take it thirty minuted to an hour before before going on a bike ride, I just want to ride and ride all day. No bad effects. I usually take one a six in the morning before breakfast and another around two to three.

Im on the opposite end of the spectrum now that my season is over. I need to try to gain around 20 lbs of muscle over the summer. Starting my lifting next week... I am doing a hybrid program based off of P90X workouts but less intense so I dont burn too many calories during it, we'll see how it goes, last summer i gained around 15 but lost it all when i got sick in the fall.

I put on 23lbs in 13 weeks so its possible. You just have to eat a lot f'n food. It was always hard for me to put on weight and keep it because I just didnt eat a lot. Now, it has become pretty easy to maintain my fitness and weight with portioned meals.

Thats pretty impressive, I am lucky because i have a good base for energy, but that means i still have a high metabolism. I got some protein and a vitamin to take because it isn't easy for me to eat right with work in the way (that and i hate store bought meat)

I first posted about it on 4/15, so a little mover a month. I don't always take two per day, and probably have two weeks left in the bottle. Since I've been taking it for a while now I should probably take three a day.

01FR500 06-01-2011 05:41 PM

Been swimming laps in the pool for the past three days, finally got past that 15 lb barrier. It's almost annoying how loose all my clothes are now. Chest, arms, and abs are still making good progress. I should have taken before and after pictures.

01FR500 06-28-2011 05:14 PM

Fawk you guys, I'm updating. I can't be the only one who cares about this shit.

Still putting on muscle. Hard to keep track of how much other than what I can see in the mirror. I'm particularly proud of my triceps. Hell of a nice upside down V shape on the side of my arms. I've been staying around 152.5 pounds, I'd like to cut below 150 (145 ideally). My BF% would be around 12% then I think. Height is 5'7" if anyone is experienced with that kind of thing. a lot of online calculators tell me that my current BF% is nearly 24% which I think is BS, I'm a pretty stocky built dude.

I used all of that Oxy Elite Pro which worked great. After being off it for a few weeks I decided to try another fat burner. I got some Lipodrene Xtreme. I've only been taking it for a few days but from what I can tell it doesn't work nearly as well as OEP. Lipodrene doesn't have as much of an energy boost like what I'd experience with OEP. I guess well see how it turns out in the long term.

There shouldn't be much of a reason I can't get below 150 lbs. I still have some stomach fat that I could loose. The six pack is still coming in and I've got some nice 'cuts' above my hips.

drag_racer33 06-28-2011 06:38 PM

I'm still not cleared by the ATs here to lift. I found out I have a tear in my anterior glenoid labrum (a rotator cuff muscle). Just running for me and thera-band exercises the rest of the summer. I don't run alot though because I am still off-season so I like to give my body a break.

I just went to the trampoline park that opened up around here recently, and I must say that is one helluva cardio workout. We were there for about an hour and a half and I was sweating and out of breath. I'm feeling nice and sore today. I've been doing some pretty intense cardio stuff for awhile, but it hasn't gotten me out of breath and tired like jumping on trampolines has.

stanger00 07-01-2011 05:51 AM

From May 19th till June 18th I didnt excercise at all. During that break I caught the flu and didnt eat food for about 4-5 days  Only lost 8lbs though. I been back at the gym for 2 weeks now and slowly gaining back all that was lost. I need to do more cardio type stuff to get rid of some BF% but all in all I'm still good. No progress to report. I'm moving back to CA later this month as I just quit my job today :D Too much work related BS going on out here (Iraq) to stay.

01FR500 07-02-2011 12:57 PM

Fuck, don't eat Mcdonald's if you haven't had it in several months. Weird things happen in your intestines. I rode 18.1 miles today on my new bike, woot. I'm going to try to work my way up to 50 miles.

Zombie thread back from the dead!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm coming up on a year since I've started to work towards my goals, only about eight months into seriously doing something about it.

I've lost 30 pounds since my heaviest weight, about 175 lbs, now at 145. I didn't start going to a real gym until last spring.

Bench Starting: ~150 Now: ~250 (max)
Squat and Deadlift havn't incereased so much, Squat is around 450, Deadlift is 315.

I've got eight-pack abs, my traps are building up nicely, arms are looking defined and chest is filling out pretty well.

whitestang04 02-27-2012 08:50 PM

Well it was a year later than I had planned but I finally got a bike. I picked up a 2011 Scott CR1. I rode 35 miles last week and plan to ride at least 5days a week. I am also starting a healthier diet as well. I hope to see some results soon. I used to be under 5% body fat and I'm now up around 16% :(

drag_racer33 02-28-2012 07:52 AM

Nice! I will have to get a bike after my track career is over (only 3 more months). I finally got cleared to lift weights from my separated shoulder almost a year ago. I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum, having trouble keeping muscle on and weight up

Ouch! That doesn't sound like fun. I have never been one to have much muscle mass but was always very lean. When I was in the Army I was 5'10 135 these days I'm closer to 155-160 with less muscle than I had back then.

Today I went for my longest ride yet at 25 miles averaging around 15 mph. I am considering starting to train for a local triathlon that is about 6 months away.

I am SO sick of being injured, just got back to full body 100% a few weeks ago and back on a normal lifting program... so today I pull my hamstring bad enough I am on crutches until I can have a full eval tomorrow (swelled up too much right now). At least it is still attached but I was hoping my last season of track I could go without an injury

Shadow_Stang 04-23-2012 07:13 PM

I'm only interested in gaining muscle right now. I ran into my old martial arts instructor at the gym today, and he said he'd hook me up with a good full body lifting routine to do 3 times a week (I'm too busy to lift 5 days). I told him I wanted a lot of compound exercises to do and get good at.

My downfall is nutrition... it's so confusing to me. I know I need 5-6 small meals every 3 hours. And although I don't really have a target weight, I still want to gain as much muscle as I can. He said take in about 200 grams of protein per day, with low carbs and low fat, and kill myself in the gym... then I'll see results. So we'll see what happens.

StalkerStang 04-25-2012 06:31 PM

I'm in a rut too with my lifting. I'm 6 ft. tall and was sitting close to 200 lbs. and was doing pretty well. I started getting pain in my chest which ended up being costal chondralitis, bascially inflammation of the costal cartilage between the ribs and the sternum. It hurts and it takes 2-3 months to heal. I've been out of the gym since early February and today I weighed in at 173 lbs, lol nearly all my muscle mass is out the window... lame

If I were you, I'd just spend all my time figuring out a good nutrition program. Bodies are built in the kitchen... and although you can't add much muscle for 2-3 months, you can atleast get a little cut, and then when you're able to lift again, already have a good base... and plenty of knowlede with food. idk, seems like what I would do I guess.

Most people kill themselves lifting, and don't eat right... and get no where.
