Good Deal?

I'd probably get them powdered coated Gloss Black because my rims are already black, but they're all 17x9 and I don't need the tires since I already have brand new ones.
Do you think this would be a good deal?

Have 2, 17 x 10.5 Chrome 1995 Mustang Cobra R aftermarket wheels. Wheels are 5 lug with minor curb rash. Tires are pretty worn.

for the price there not bad, im sure if you get them powdercoated you can fix em up some. but in the end you might be better off by new ones.

You'll end up paying out the ass to have them powdercoated.. I would definitely double check that before moving on them. Powdercoating wheels generally isn't a big deal, but removing chrome is a bitch.

I was thinking of offering him $100 and no more then $150 if that. I might know someone or people to give me a deal on the Powder Coating. It's the removing the Chrome I'm not so sure about.

My car originaly was supposed to come with 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear, but instead came with all 17x9. I mean my car is a daily driver, rain or shine, well usually I have the bike out for the dry/sunny days, but you know what I mean. I do want the 10.5 in the rear though, more thread, cleaner/better look and when I get a Cobra I can use my rims (hopefully) on there until I get what I really want.

So really what would be worth it, talk him down on the price or buy new ones or screw it?

Edit: If I buy them from American Muscle it'll cost $263.18

Id call some powder coating shops before you pick up the wheels. I don't think you'd come out cheaper than just getting them new to be honest. What are you doing about tires for the 10.5 inch rims?

Can you just not Powder Coat over the Chrome without stripping it off?

I had a set of Cobra R's years ago on my 98 V6 which was white, and I had the rims powder coated white. A friend here has a business and his dad did them for me for like $100 for the whole set. They had some rough spots orig. and that was all smoothed and filled when they were done.

Yeah I'll call around and see if I can find a good deal or something. I do have brand new tires, but they're only 275's, which I can probably take back and trade for 315's and pay a little extra. If not I'm sure I could find a buyer for the tires, maybe the rims too.

I honestly don't know, but I don't think it would look good or even hold that. I'm not to much worried about the curb rashes since they would get fixed before completely done, but also because mine aren't in that perfect of shape, nor is mine a show care what so ever. haha
