New Clutch

Got a new clutch in today. Got real worried the past few weeks about my TOB noise. Bad grinding sounds.. Thanks to a local mustang, and domestic performance shop here for getting it done for me on short notice.. Clutch feels great, Hope my old ass knee can hold up to it in traffic.. LOL. And didn't have to pay for someones vacation to get it done.. I'm happy again.. :D Back to the pool and beer for me.:D Vacation week over for me, Monday.. :t:

Hey if your knee starts hurting, feel free to drive on down here. Ill swap ya for an auto. :D Haha. Id say more but because of me never owning a mustang manual i dunno squat about em, as in how they feel. Either way enjoy the new one!

My knee actually got better in 2004 when I bought my stang. Working it everyday was good for it. This clutch is a lot stronger than stock one that came from factory. Or it seems to be. It'll soften up some after a few miles. Plus I got the dead pedal on the left to keep me from resting my foot on the clutch pedal.. Which is the key to keeping your left foot off the clutch.. ;)

TPS Motorsports markets their custom clutch which used to be the Apex Motorsports clutch. Full face kevlar with a sprung hub. Twice the load holding capacity but with a mellow pressure plate it's really easy to deal with, even with bad knees. I run one of these in my car with a King Cobra pressure plate.

now that's a clutch disc. Next time you're up for a clutch call up TPS and get one of their discs and use it with a standard pressure plate and you'll trip at how easy it is to cycle.

God i hate you manual guys. Hate my parents for first off, buying a v6, second, buying an auto, third for buying a convertible. Guh. Well two of those are fixable lol.

lets just put it this way, your left leg will increase in size compared to your right leg, lol.

There not too bad really, but I remember when I first got it or when I get stuck in heavy stop and go traffic, I am reminded of how much work it really is, especially compared to my jeep with its hydraulic clutch which takes minimal effort.

haha...I know how you feel. My first mustang was a 2001 V6 and it was an AUTO. 4 Months later I learned how to drive a 5-speed manual and quickly traded it in for a Manual GT. The v6 didnt quench my thirst..

I wish i could trade my car in honestly, i know how to drive almost any standard, and could love the rumble of a v8.

Hell, you can just as much fun in a V-8 with an auto. Just got to get the right torque converter and shift kit. Unless your planning on on jumping every car you get next to at a stop light. Or running at the track real often. ;)

Hey... This clutch is stiffer than most mechanical clutches I've driven. I even used to add another spring to my clutch on my 68 GTO. To stiffen it up.

Whenever you get your 1st gout attack in your knee and can't step on a cotton ball without it killing you, then talk to me. ;):p. And don't say it won't happen. After you turn 45, the shit starts happening. Then it snowballs from there...
