Yah im pretty stoked on it.

It was going good, then she got a lawyer who was fighting to get her 1,500/mo spousal for 1 year, support, 600/mo child support, part of my 401k, and i would still have to pay for day-care, insurance, and any out of pocket medical expences. That would have run me well over 3,000 a month.

My lawyer was trying to pull custody of the boy from her, have social services investigate her place, force her to have a vocational competancy test done, etc, etc.

Neither of us wanted to go that direction, so we fired the lawyers, hashed it out, and im paying about 1/3 of what her lawyer was trying to get her. next april it drop to just $500/mo child support, and i agreed to keep up with that unless she starts pulling in more money.

we had what was just a status conference yesterday, the judge asked us what we had left and we already completed everything. So he went ahead and signed off on it and bam. all done!

Remind me to do a prenup when/if I ever get married. Sounds like she was actually decent about the whole thing, but she could have fucked your shit up.

I have always wondered what constitutes someone for Alimony during one of these proceedings anyways?
