I've been kind of waiting for the perfect day to ride..and yesterday was it. I took the CBR off her stands and went on a fan-friggin-tastic 2.5 hour ride through the gorgeous Colorado rockies. ohh emmm geee I forgot how much I love it. got damn long ass CO winters.

On a side note you would be happy to know I am selling the bike and have a buyer who wants it. Problem is I need to find a R6 that I like before hand. That's right I am getting out of the cruiser scene for a bit. Figured I would try a used R6 for a year or so and see how I like it.

That thing is pretty sweet. I know what you mean though, but I like acceleration and turning and the cruisers, other then the 09+ Yamaha Vmax just don't do it.

i only rode my bike during spring break and one weekend when i got home from school. i have until may 8th before i can consistently ride.

with all the talk with switching motorcycles, i currently have 2 in my garage. My suzuki 600 and my uncles 01 harley. He hasnt ridden it in a little over 2 years so he is letting me ride it around until he gets time from his work.

How do you feel going from the 600 to the HD.

You would fishy. You would.

it is certainly different. the hd isnt nearly as fast but the low end tq is awesome, the 600 just flies through the gears but has NO tq.

also, the seating position is way different. i never really minded riding the 600 as it puts you more on your wrists, obviously. but once i rode the HD it was just comfy. lol

turning on my 600 is at a whim. once you push the handle bar right, your leaning right where as on the hd it takes time for the weight to transfer. that was the only real big difference i felt when it comes to riding it.

if i were you i would look at f4i's because they put you in a more upright position than an r6.

I dunno..he's a more experienced rider. for the full sport bike feel the f4i just doesn't cut it. unless you want a kind of slow, half assed, more comfy sportbike :)

as to stay on topic. i rode my friends ninja 500r today. that thing was slow...lol

I am going back and forth between selling it to this guy and getting a R6 or just doing what I want to the bike. If I keep it, she is getting matte bkack paint, new punisher skull, cams, high compression pistons, nitrous, and then lower it, and get rid of the turn signals for something cleaner, and drag bars.

I like my bike, but its just not what I want it to be. However it is paid for and I could do what I want to it. I don't know anymore lol.

i still stand by getting an f4i. theyre cheap. if you like it, sell both then get something more supersport. if you dont like the f4i, just sell that. of course i dont know your financial situation, so that plan may not be feasible for you.

honestly, i love my 600. the only way i would get a cruiser is if i could keep the 600 as well.

I hate Honda, I could never own one. Not even there motorcycles. I just won't do it.

So... I went on my first motorcycle ride EVER yesterday. I've got a friend that has a Honda CBR600 that looks exactly like this, same color and all:

It was fucking incredible. Like nothing I've ever known. It's a feeling of being vulnerable, out in the open. It's like being free. I was inititally kind of apprehensive, but after the first few minutes on the highway, I was relaxed. I was almost freaked out by how comfortable I was on it. He was a great rider, too. He went over stuff before we got on the bike, made sure I didn't have any questions/concerns and made sure I was comfortable and everything. That helped the experience a lot for me. It put me at ease.

Only thing I didn't like was how slippery the passenger's seat was. I was sliding into him constantly and kept having to use the tank to support myself from pushing into him. I barely weigh 110lbs, so if a situation was to arise where he had to suddenly brake, the inability for me to plant my weight firmly on that seat would be an issue for me. But, in normal stopping conditions, planting my weight on the bike with my feet on the pegs, hugging the bike with my knees, and supporting my weight with my hands on the tank was simple to do. But, having a slippery seat definitely sucks.

If I get the chance to ride again, I'd take it in a split second. One of the funnest things I've ever done.

I tell girls to push their hands into my lower back when stopping..it's a lot easier on my balls. pretty sure it's easier for them too. plus it kind of feels good on the back :)

He told me to put my hands on the tank, so that's what I did! :p

It was kind of easy to put my hands on the tank, because I had my arms around him. I didn't have to take my arms all the way off and move them to his back. Plus, I didn't wanna cause him any undue movement or anything like that.

one of the girls that I rode with a LOT last summer told me it was easier and she slid around less...who knows. I'm sure it's all preference. I just hate it when a girl does nothing and crushes my balls lol

I might try that if I get to ride with him again. What's funny is he told me to put my hands on the tank while stopping before we got on the bike, but he didn't even have to tell me that. I would've done it by instinct. It just felt natural to me to be on the bike. Not to lean the opposite way he was leaning, not to stay attached to him and 'crush' him while stopping, not moving while the bike is moving, etc. It's all just common sense stuff to me.

You'd be surprised that for a lot of girls it's not. I think the 'fear' aspect of it scares them and the lose their instinct in it. I love giving people rides. A lot of girls trust me because they know I'd never hurt them in my life, but I've had a few that have slipped while hitting a bump in the road and completely freaked and almost made us wreck.

I had an idea a while back and told a few of my buddies and they thought I was crazy. I've bought two different seats now for my bike, both were just as slippery as the stock.

So I said, what if the seat had a sort of low-profile velcro for the passenger, and then riding pants had the same velcro on the buttox area? Wouldn't that make things ten times easier? You'd want it tight, but not so tight that you can't get off the bike or that it creates some serious issues in the crotchal region lol.

I thought it was a damn good idea....

We went over a few railroad tracks and that kind of sucked, but it wasn't so bad to where I was freaking out. I wouldn't freak out in that situation, anyway. All my mind would be doing was figuring out how to stay stable on the bike! I definitely trust the guy I rode with, which made me want to ride again because he was so great with it.

I think if the seats were more 'rubberized' it would help a lot. Not that vinyl shit. It should have similar texture as the little rubber stoppers that are under this keyboard I am typing on. I wouldn't want Velcro. If you had to bail, it would be a little difficult. With a rubberized seat, you could still get up and jump your ass off the bike, but stay firm when you were actually sitting on it. With Velcro, it would take a little more force to disengage your ass from the seat, haha!

Edit: And to be honest, just that one ride yesterday SO has me thinking about getting my motorcycle endorsement and getting a sport bike. I loved it that much.

I was always skeptical when I first got my bike. I've rode and raced dirtbikes all my life, but being on the road with other idiots is what scared me. But honestly, if you just always keep your eyes open (which many of us do because we have nice cars) then you'll be okay.

I think you should. You won't regret it, and like the rest of us you'll be loving it when spring/summertime comes around!

Although, I don't know if Spook will care for it too much. :p

I'm the only girl on this forum, anyway! Except for mustangrn when she posts every once in a while.

I'd really have to contemplate things before I got a bike. I don't know how much the insurance is or anything like that. I'd also want good gear, no cheap shit. Then, I'd want to mod it as well, which would be a problem. :p Then I'd have a car payment, two car insurance payments, and a bike insurance payment. I have the money to buy a bike now... just don't want to come off the money!

I also already have a DD. I wouldn't use the bike for that. So, it's be kind of useless for me to have one. I'd only have it for fun and because I look good on it! :p

Another edit: I also don't think my dad would be okay with me having a bike. He knows I'm careful, but I know he'd worry about me. I'd have to talk to him first before I did anything.
