Please keep my brother in you thoughts/prayers
My older brother (24) went to see a doctor yesterday to look at an inflamed lymph node and the doctor told him that they needed to get it checked out asap.
They did a preliminary test and it was fine but the're going to do a biopsy to test for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I will keep you guys updated Thanks in advance -Ben |

Keep a positive outlook dude. maybe it's just a swollen lymph node from a virus or something. What lymph node area is the problem anyway? there are several..
|
The one that is the trouble is a very large one in his neck that has been there for about a month now
|
Well my brother's appointment was today and his neck aspiration came into my office a few hours later. (I'm a hospital lab technician) Because of the position that I hold I have certain abilities when it comes to "the line" needless to say his specimen went in through the VIP entrance reserved for royalty..... and Jesus.
I had our cytologist look at it and all she saw was that it looked like a reactive lymph node (best case scenario). Thanks for your thoughts and prayers guys it means alot to me |
Good news bro. I get swollen nymph glands periodically and they will scare the hell out of ya. They usually go away after a day or 2 though. But one that last for awhile needs to be looked at..
Anyway not to go into much detail but I've been through 2 "RSLND" surgeries and had a total of 72 lymph nodes removed. 9 days with an NG tube down my throat, through my nose was no fcking fun at all.. I still question if it was neccessary to go through all that just to confirm a diagnosis.. I still have problems with scar tissue and the overall impact it had on me.. |

Altogether I had 4 major surgeries and 6 months of chemo in 94 and 95. But it saved my life so I can only complain a little bit.. ;) |
