I am so effing p/o right now I got a speeding ticket going 6 over the speed limit..... :mad: ......you have to be joking me. It's freaking $90...there goes my damn catted x-pipe. Seriously on a road that is non residential and only 17 cars drive on....S@!#

Not sure how the laws are there but here they can't give you a ticket if you are going 5 over but anything after that is fair game and you can't fight it. The reason why they allow 5 over is for their calibration not being dead on all the time. Good luck trying to get out of that. I say just pay up the $90. It isn't worth your time wasting a day to fight it and then if you lose you have to pay court costs.

doesnt matter where you are from or where you live. If the speed limit is 55, that means you go 55. A cop can give you a ticket for going 1 over, however if the cop does that and you go to court, the judge will look at the cop and say, are you crazy. It all depends on the cop. Speed limit means that is your Limit of how fast you can go.

I know this to be untrue. I was pulled over exactly a week before getting my stang(last year) and it a part of the ticket had an outline saying 1-5 deserved a warning. And then the ticket prices started from 6-9 and then 10-15, etc etc. Going 5 over can NOT get you a ticket, therefore, I always go 5 over. However, consider the time, setting, and situation, and you could fight this thing in court, no problem. As long as it wasnt rush hour traffic and backed up far, I dont see why you couldnt beat it. And to those saying "why fight it?" well.....you get points added, and insurance increase. even if you lost the case, taking a driving class will not only eliminate any points you may have gotten, but will keep insurance the same(buy LAW they must keep it the same if u take a class), but it will also lower the ticket price.

Bottom line...as long as yuou havent taken a driving class within the past year, you can get out of this without points or insurance increase, easy as cake.

That is crap and I don't know where you got that stupid information from. I know lots of cops and that is so untrue. Get your stuff straight. 1 mph over and a ticket? CMON and use common sense!
