Found a Mustang I have never heard of before.

I found this link to this Mustang while searching Craigslist in Sarasota/Bradenton, FL.

http://auto.scotttoyotanc.com/4998124.html

I had never seen it before, so I searched for 'Roush Mustang variations" and found this link.

http://www.themustangnews.com/forums...n-mustang.html

Maybe the owner of the car in the first link changed the hood and front bumper or something. All in all, I like the car, minus that ugly-ass wing. I was just wondering if any of you had seen or heard of this car before. When I first saw it I wondered if it was a legitimate variation or if it was created by an enthusiast.

that looks like someone tried to turn their mustang into a Porsche GT3RS. thumbs down.

looking at it again, remove the spoiler and its a sharp looking car.

I've heard about this before, but I didn't know that any actually made it to production (unless it is the prototype - which, judging by the price-tag, is something I highly doubt)

Judging from more digging that I've been doing, it looks to be the real thing. It has the same seats, same engine, same graphics, wheels and brakes. Only difference I see is the emblem on the back of the one in the add is completely blacked out with yellow lettering, the front bumper and the hood. If this is a reproduction, someone did a damn good job, I think.

It is also possible that the dealer doesn't realize the rarity of this car if it is indeed the 'real thing'.

Edit:
Here is a link that shows the different Mustang variations PRODUCED from 2005-2009. The RS3/C is listed. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/24/o...ford-mustang/4

Here is another that says that there were 4 RS3/C's produced in 2009 and only one of them is grabber orange like the one in the ad. http://www.fnsweet.com/about/2009-ro...oduction.shtml

"The Roush/Cooper RS3/C Edition Mustang which we test drove on Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway only saw 4 units produced, one in each color of Grabber Orange, Black, Performance Red, and Vista Blue." From themustangnews.com

I think I might call the dealer and tell them to research the car more. Find out where it came from and if it is a reproduction or not.

Looks like it's just a "427R Trak Pak" with a special name because Cooper tires wanted in on the Roush deal.... /stupid

It does look extremely similar to that and from what I have read, you are right. It is stupid, but if that car is the real thing and it is as rare as it seems, it should be worth more than almost $39,000.

I really don't think so... I mean, if it was 1 of 4 special Shelby's, yes.. But 1 of 4 Roush Trak Pak look-alike's with special vinyl graphics and Cooper tires... Not so much.

IMHO it's not worth the $39k they're asking for it.

You don't really buy a track car for looks though. Being a track oriented car with a functional race wing, removing it would defeat the purpose of the car. You can buy similar looking Roush that is set up for the street without the wing.

Yep, just the 427R without the Trak Pak.
