There goes the Mach

But only for the winter :) Hopefully by the time spring rolls around I'll have another car to use as a DD and the Mach can stay in storage and never have to see rain again.

I'm debating on a couple different mods to order during the winter too, I just can't fully decide on something. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are the current mods: http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...ht=cammed+mach

And lastly, I was hoping to get a good video of the cams echoing but I was too close to the car so it just came out distorted, here's the attempt though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QvZ6v4PqvY

I thought he wrecked it, too. That misleading bastard!

That 'cunt punch through the internet' is awesome' Some people need a nutsack kick through the internet.

Mine went into hibernation in my mom's garage last Sunday..... :crbaby:

Gonna have it paid off by Jan/Feb. so then it will be time for some force fed air...... And maybe a little whine. :D

jseven 12-01-2009 03:33 PM

I was so relieved when I saw the Mach in a garage. Man, what a scare.

where did you pick up your headers. been thinking of doing some exhaust work and would like to have long tube headers. have you had any problems with leaks or gaskets blowing out?

x04V6x 12-02-2009 12:14 AM

The headers came on the car, but they're BBK longtubes. Check out the exhaust section of AmericanMuscle.com

No problems with them at all, and no leaks or problems with gaskets either. However if it would have been up to me I would have picked up a set of Kooks or Bassani LTs.

As soon as we get some nicer weather here the Mach will be getting a full detail inside and out, I'll post up a pics thread, maybe some more videos too, just depends on the weather.

haha. Snow is acceptable, but to not drive it in the rain. C'mon. Cars are meant to be driven.

Mr. Zip 12-02-2009 08:09 AM

I wish I had a car that was worth enough cash to store over the winter bahaha

King 12-02-2009 08:34 AM

This morning the is 3'' of snow on the ground here. Coincidentally, I have to go to work today. I will be taking the Mach and will report back with my 2009 answer for "how does a Mach handle in snow?". lol. I just want a POS dd to keep some miles off her!

GDP 12-02-2009 09:01 AM

I have never understood why people say "I will not let my car see rain" ..... is your fucking car made of sugar? Is that shit gonna melt?

King 12-02-2009 09:06 AM

There are dirt particles in the rain. When the rain pounds your car these tiny little dirt particles are scratching into your clearcoat and doing damage to your car. Rain is hypothetically harder on paint because it pounds the paint, while snow gently lands on the car. Both do their fair share of damage to clear coats, but rain is definitely the worse of the two.

If you compare a car that has been garaged to a car that has spent some quality time with mother nature (and then cleaned to be fair) you will more than likely see a pretty sizable difference.

x04V6x 12-02-2009 09:25 AM

King's post sums it up completely. If I had a v6 or GT or even a less modded Mach 1 I wouldn't worry too much about it, but this car just deserves to be kept inside out of all the weather.

To each their own. But I'll enjoy driving my car everyday of the year. These mustangs aren't worth anything anyways.

My biggest problem is that I don't have a garage.. If I could drive my car everyday and put it in a garage every night I would, but I can't.. For that reason, it's in my mom's garage for the winter. We don't get much snow here, the issues here are ice, the last thing I want is for my car to sit outside with a 1/4" sheet of ice on it.

Do you have enough room or would you be able to build on a garage or car port? I'm sure there are zoning issues and permits and such, but that would be pretty sweet if you could build one.

I've been throwing around the idea of a carport, but that will have to wait until next spring if I decide to do it.. This is my first house and I have every intention of it being an investment house/rental in the future so it really won't do me any good to throw $15-20k into it to build a garage.. Zoning stuff really isn't much of an issue here unless you live in a major city like Nashville/Murfreesboro/Brentwood, I live about 30 min. north of Nashville, so no problems with that out here.

rebelyell 12-02-2009 11:40 PM

I think the biggest problem with x04V6x is, where he lives. Winter roads there are probably full of salt and chemicals. Good job storing her for the winter if you have other transport. Down south here I might have to scrape some ice from the windshield or dust off a few flakes of snow, But nothing usually cept cold ass rain.. My car cleans up pretty good, even after the worst Mother Nature can throw at us down here.. ;)

mustangvsix 12-03-2009 10:36 PM

sad day, but when spring rolls around you will be super excited to drive it again. I have to drive mine all year unfortunately but anything over about 3'' and either A) the exhaust will be plowing the snow or the tires won't have any grip(not that they do when it's 20 degrees out at night) and I start bumming rides. guess its that time of year to go buy some tire cables to get around on those icy mornings, lame!
