Couple new toys for me!!!

Bought a new headunit for the Bullitt today, a Clarion NX-409 Double Din DVD with navigation. It will be here on Tuesday. I already have a pair of Sundown amps and subwoofers for it, and CDT component speakers. Should be a nice sounding setup. I'm somewhat of a true audiophile, I love nice, clean sound.

I also got a brand new Fluke 189 True RMS multimeter. This thing is awesome, the best DMM that I've ever owned, and got it at a great deal since it's last year's model.

:( I will eventually change my headunit out with a JVC KW-AVX820 Double DIN DVD. But unfortunately its about a 650 dollar head unit, and for a while at least, there's some other things for the car that take precedence over a new head unit. Like... 4.10 install and nitrous. :D But congrats man!!!! I'm all about music too.

I've got a Fluke 88 that I've had for 10 yrs and never had a problem with it. I had it calibrated once about 3 yrs ago.

I found this 189 for $150 brand new sitting in a pawn shop. I got on my blackberry and checked the model number out on the internet, and found that it originally sold for $499, and this one still had the plastic over the screen. Came with the current clamp, usb cable, leads, alligator clip leads also. I offered the guy $100 for it, and he took it.

This one does datalogging also, but I have to download the manual for it, because even though I have a degree in electronics, I got it in 1994, and haven't pursued it very much over the years, so all the additional functions are greek to me right now, especially the datalogging function, which could be nice to use while monitoring things like MAF voltage, TPS voltage, etc.

I'll get it figured out though.

I have a Fluke 189. My favorite meter for basic measuring. I have a Fluke 744 though for the more technical work. ;)

Shit, that meter was more than a dang supercharger.

Damn man, I don't think I'd ever have a need for something like that doing basic automotive electrical work, and typical, around the house stuff. If the 189 won't handle the job, I probably don't need to be doing it in the first place.....lol

I don't work in the industry, so this 189 is probably way more than I'll ever need, but I've got this closet tool addiction. If I see a tool I like, and I think I may need, I have to get it, especially if it's a good price.
