Awesome weekend!
 

So my awesome weekend just finished -- two concerts in one weekend was amazing!


Started Saturday night featuring Skillet with Decyfer Down, Hawk Nelson (who sucked -- the only bad part of my weekend was listening to that crap that they call music), and a new band that I had never heard of before but really liked called The Letter Black.

Sunday started with a meet and greet with the band Paramore, there were 10 of us that played Corn Hole (beanbag tossing) with the band about an hour and a half before their concert. That was cool. Haley Williams is just as smoking hot in real life as you'd think she would be. So that was cool. That concert was pretty good, they had a good sound. I know Paramore isn't really the type of music the majority of Mustangboard'rs listen to, but I like a few of their songs and got into their concert for free..so suck it. They were opened by a couple of groups I've never heard of before..one being The Swellers. They sucked. Not quite at the Hawk Nelson suck level, but it wasn't good by any means. Next was a emo/punk group called PaperRoute....they sucked too. But at least their "music" had a decent drummer...the other bands drummer sucked pretty badly.

Anyway, the Skillet concert was amazing. Even the opening acts were great (aside from Hawk Nelson), Decyfer Down had great presence and much better live sound than I thought they would and The Letter Black was fantastic. Too bad that they couldn't play longer, I can see them being a featuring act very soon. And the lead singer of that band, well...she's pretty smoking hot herself...but that aside, the group has talent and a lot of potential.

Overall, I think it was a pretty awesome weekend. Not that I meant to rub it in to all of you that didn't have a good weekend, I just felt like sharing. Granted, that could just be all of the weed that I second-hand smoked tonight/Sunday (since I'm no smoker and it's technically Monday being that it's 12:57a local time).

But that's it. I had a good weekend. :D

at least your weekend was much better than mine. i had to do a national guard weekend this weekend, so it was pretty wasted, but i get paid for it.


as far as concerts go, the metallica concert last year in november ROCKED. The Sword and Down who both had opened for metallica both sucked ass hardcore. but metallica puts on a show and they fucking rock in concert. :D

Sounds cool, I've also met Haley at warped tour a few years ago. Definitely hot in person.

Yesterday I saw Maylene and the Sons of Disaster play with All That Remains. Pretty awesome show.

I'd like to see Skillet, they're a really good band with a positive message. Paramore it pretty good, but 'eh.. At least Haley is hot.

Any weekend with cornholein and Haley Williams sounds good to me:kekekegay:

I had a great weekend. No concerts or anything. But I only get about 1 full weekend a month off. This was my 2nd in a row. So,

The 1st thing I did was go get my beer and cigs for the weekend. Yay.
Then I mowed the lawn. Should be the last one for a while.

washed the Mustang, Yay. Then I settled down to the Nationwide ( Busch race i still call it). And fired the grill up and cooked some steaks for dinner.

Sunday. Finally covered the pool. ( shoulda done this in sept.) Slow cooked some ribs in the crock pot. Yum, fall off the bone in about 6 hours. watched the Nascar race at Tejas.. ( Z Z Top played for the crowd). Then just rsted up for this week.

MY idea of a perfect weekend.. weather was great both days. Life is good again.. :)

Do it. Skillet concerts are amazing. Plus, them and Paramore are both from your neck of the woods in Tennessee.
