Trying to pull the tranny out of the MG

This is day 2 and I didn't see that with the motor in the car I have to remove the wooden floor boards. FML, so now I have to take even more of the interior out to get the freaking tranny out. With this car and the motor in the car, the tranny has to come out from the interior. Weird I know, but this car is always full of weird designs and strange engineering.

Also getting the stock exhaust manifold ceramic coated to help with the vapor lock which it gets very badly if you drive it any decent distance and then park it for 15mins or more. I'll post some pics up too so you can see the chaos in my garage. Good thing I have this week and possibly next week off.

Damn Dustin that sounds like a pain in the ass. Getting the header coated is a good idea, I couldn't believe the vapor lock at the last meet.

Hey Dustin, does that car have a down draft carb or an up draft one barrel? Do you have enough room to fab up an alum. heat shield to mount between the carb and the manifold?

Its got two single barrel SU carbs and they are downdraft carbs. The setup of the intake manifold and exhaust manifold is terrible. They are in line with each other. With the exhaust ports right next to the intake ports so the intake manifold (a single log style on the side) is right above the actual exhaust manifold and the intake ports are next to the exhaust manifolds ports that connect to the head. So they are basically on top of each other and causes crazy vapor lock and heat into the carbs and intake manifold. No heat sheild is going to help and to be honest I don't want to add one to this car. It looks to cool the way it is.
