The reason I am curious is because my buddy is coming with me and he has an automatic 2010 mazda 3 hatchback and it's supposed to run between 16 and 16.2 (but that might be the manuals) and I want to know if I have a chance
|
16.20 at 85MPH.
i better get my 10 points if im right. |
16.4 @85
|
I averaged all the guesses so far up..... cause I'm at work and bored and the average time is!!!!!! 16.16
which I'm going to be honest I think is a little fast |
Average them again and ignore the 2 slowest and fastest
|
15.94 @ 86 miles per hour
Tie breaker 2.11 60 ft |

Too lazy maybe tomorrow lol |
I'm in no place to guess...but I'll throw one out there. I'm gonna say 15.9 at 91 if you drive it like you stole it. Maybe a 16.3 first run with a 2.3 60ft...
And pics/vid or it didn't happen. |

I'm counting on that 8.8'' with the 3.27 gear to be the deciding factor here. Not a lot of power from the engine, so better chance of it hooking up and having less/no tire spin..still all a guess.

I should probably mention that last time I went was my first time at the track and I had no idea how to stage and auto so I went from all break to all gas My plan this time is to left foot break and get the RPMs up to just before the rears break loose so that I launch with my revs closer to where I actually make power |
Launch on the third amber light too...it takes time for your foot to go down. Launching on the third amber will give you a better r/t.
|
Only leave on 3rd amber if you're in a coma :D
Hes gonna be power brakin it |
im freezing it at low 16's
if you would have gone with 3.73s or 4.10's then i would say mid to high 15's |
16.15@84mph 60' 2.38
Its still hot around here so I don't know what the weather is like out there. If its cooler you might hit 15's. Oh and run with a 1/4 tank of fuel or a bit more if you are far from a gas station. And take the spare tire and jack out of the trunk along with any unneeded items like floor mates and junk in the car. Have fun! I had the most fun drag racing when I had my F150 and it was mostly stock and ran 16's. I had the most fun getting it into the 15's with just CAI,Efans, custom catback, shitty tune Superchips tune and weight reduction. Then I added nitrous and got it running high 13's with a few mods. |
16.20's.
Don't waste your time power braking with the auto. I found the best results to be kind of stutter stepping it. Go 3/4 gas then to the floor. This method got me a 2.01 60' on street tires. No Nitrous, just 4.10's and bolt ons. I was so damn nervous when I was making my nitrous passes that I power braked it. I didnt want to have to focus on too many things. I had shitty launches and only got a 1.996 60' with drag radials, nitrous, 4.10's and bolt ons. I believe I could of went 12.20's all night with at least a 1.89 60'. |

I'll have to try that I plan on getting alot of runs in and taking a pen so as soon as I'm done with my run I can write on the back of the time slip what I did at the start and comparing them all |
16.2x it all depends on how the track is.. on street tires I'd launch the car a little softer to keep from just burning tires..
And I have never heard of anyone on an auto giving it 3/4 throttle and then mashing it but hey, if it works for you.. |
Tried many different techniques and that seems to work the best when your on street tires.

Alright its Sunday, need some numbers !!!!!!!!
