Fun Ford Weekend - Is it Dead?
 

I went last year and had a great time, and did notice the attendance was a little lower than other times and vendors werent in abundance either...but gas prices were supper high too and I think something was going on in TN, Rod Run or I think Steve Saleen and Carroll Shelby were there for the event as well...so it was kinda split on where people were gonna go as well.

But I hadnt heard much fuss about it, so thought I would google for the events schedule for 2009 and see when it might be going on. And I found that there FFW Operations have ceased all togethor from what I have read...

Anybody hear any thing in this regard, I guess with the economy and especially the big 3 in question might have something to do with it ?

As far as I know the company that ran it went under earlier this year.

I heard that Ford backed their support from it to help save money...like 3 months ago. That's what I read a while back on M1R, anyway.

Nooooo! I always had so much fun at FFW! Plus, the pre-FFW burnout competition at hooters was always awesome.

Its gone because it sucks and they changed the damn rules to much!

yeah I heard a lot of complaints about that last year from the guys racing, especially my friend that was running his 03 Cobra, he needed to re-attach his vacuum line to his BOV since it blew off during his first run and they told him if he popped the hood he would be DQ'd and be out of it. And he was like I cant run like this and worry about blowing something...so he took his loses and popped the hood anyways!

That is the problem is they became dicks about the rules, and on top of it they changed them so much it was retarded to keep up with. They killed themselves off sadly. And I to think I have been going since I was 15 all the way up till now when I'm 24. Used to be a great racing weekend. I would leave highschool early on a Friday and drive up from the Keys with friends and go to the race in Orlando and then come back on sunday after the races for school/work on monday.
